Season of the Witch and House of Wax

Could anyone please confirm whether or not the Australasian release of Season of the Witch has is in 1080P. I have pre ordered UK release but just discovered that video is only 1080i. Our local release is dearer than the UK version but I would be happy to pay more for a 1080p version.

Secondly could someone please confirm whether or not the Australian release of House of Wax comes witha lossless 5.1 audio track. Movie not available on blu ray in New Zealand. UK version only has a DD 5.1 soundtrack.

House of Wax will be the same everywhere. As it's Warner Bros their discs are generally identical barring a couple of varied sub options depending on the region it's released in. Our local Warner Bros releases are always the same as the UK ones right down to the disc artwork having UK ratings logos and not featuring ours. House of Wax was an early HD-DVD title so it will be stuck with Dolby Digital everywhere.

As for Season of the Witch, I'm not sure. EzyDVD claims it's 1080p. It's hard to tell as it's Roadshow. They traditionally don't share transfers with Momentum from my knowledge so it could be different. This is one film that's being released by a million different studios all over the world so it's a bit of guesswork until someone sees the back or buys it.

Roadshow = Season of the Witch is 4:3, 480p and 4.0 Dolby Digital (but reversed channels).

According to online listings, the Australian release of Season of the Witch will have the same special features as the US release, so maybe (hopefully) it's a port of that disc.

The UK release is apparently 1080i, but also it's missing several special features, including deleted scenes.

I have cancelled my UK order for Season of the Witch and will buy local version.

Hopefully it will come with 1080p video but if not it will be no worse than UK release
