Default Peter Falk Dies

very sad news today.
I always think of his role as himself in Wings of Desire, but I'm sure most people think of Columbo.

Will always remember him most fondly as the Grandfather in "The Princess Bride."

Columbo is in a prominent place on my BD wish list. They could look fantastic.

+1 I have only seen Columbo once. I loved the episode though because he immediately got someone to feed a cat that had been trapped with no food. From what I read about his quality of life though maybe it's better that he passed away.

Hey, if most of us can make it to 83 or so, we'll all have something to be thankful for. He lived a long life, good for him.

Makes me think of my other (Favorite) actor of the same era, James Garner, who is also 83 now.
"Keep going Rockfish!"
[Show spoiler](those of you who watched the show, will get the joke )

I can see your point. Alzheimers/dementia is one of the hardest things people have to go through. I can't imagine not even knowing who I am if I had that! My wife's grandmother has dementia (early stages), so she is in a steady decline and it is hard to watch.

My Grandmother on my Father's side had dementia, and my clearest memory of her is her staring blankly up at the ceiling. Imo, she was dead before she died.

Definitely, and you have a good point. That's really hard. My grandfather on my father's side died of alzheimer's but I was too young to understand it at the time. All my parents told me was that "this isn't who he really is" - all too true.
