I want a PS3 for trophies is that weird? - Blu-ray Forum

I have the other system but want a PS3 ever since I tried out infamous 2 at best buy a week ago . I was making a PRO/CON list if I should buy one and can honestly say I'm getting a itch to get trophies. I know they don't mean nothing but I have a itch of getting all my Trophies . I know I can get achievements but i don't like the system because you can play 100 games and get 10points which makes 1000. SO what do you guys think about my urge for trophies.

I bought a Dreamcast a month after the PS2 came out because I'm a die-hard KISS fan and it was the only console that KISS: Psycho Circus - The Nightmare Child was coming out for (which was a terrible port). Clearly there are worse reasons to buy a console......

If you really want a PS3 get one after the price cut is announced at Gamescom which goes on at the end of August.

I know my wife is getting me one soon just don't know when because she has hinted at it by asking what version I would want or were the best place to get one would be. She says for her brother but I know better then that. The only thing I can think is my birthday is 7/19. She knows I wont buy one on my own because she knows I will regret having both and have a guilty conscience BUT she knows if she buys it I will take it as a gift and love it.

YES, it's weird but get one anyway! Then you MUST MUST MUST buy the Uncharted Dual Pack that's coming out! After finishing both of them, you'll want to kick yourself for not buying a PS3 sooner.

The trophies are such a pointless feature/thing on PS3.

I wish Sony would allow to turn off the trophy notifications, like on Xbox 360.

On the 360 I don't need to see what achievements I've unlocked, because the notifications are disabled.

I feel like hinting to her the $50.00 gift card on Amazon right now then I figured I could sell Black ops for 30.00 so $299.99 minus -80=220.00 . I just don't want to hint to her that I know or that I am on to her .

I like trophies because it helps add more gameplay to my games to try to earn the platinum or 100%. Some games can be pretty hard to earn the platinum or 100% of the trophies, while others are not to hard which can be fun to achieve. But more importantly, there's lots of great games on PS3. While most games before 2009 did not have trophies, but now all of the newer games do. There's games that came out before trophies on PS3 that are still worth picking up that still don't have trophies even to this day.
Plus if you're into inFamous 2, the 1st game is free right now on the U.S. PSN Store for a limited time for the Welcome Back program(even though that means having to download the whole game).

I only have 2 games LBP and LBP2
And I got infamous with the WB program
and I kinda want infamous 2 now.
ALSO SLY (WIN) and the new tomb raider.

Uncharted 2 is better than the first, right?

Uncharted 1 was so unimpressive and generic, didn't feel any different than the other games, the graphics were awesome, though.

I didn't like the aim and shoot control which is only L1 + R1, I prefer the back buttons, i.e, L2 and R2, holding L1 + R1 most of the time becomes uncomfortable.
