I have seen both live, they are both great at what they do, but Knopfler's sheer versatility is incredible. Check out a video concert called A Night In London and you will see. Its jawdropping. Love that steel guitar. For the nonbelievers/unwashed, check out Telegraph Road or Private Investigations. Or the fantastic Dire Straits live concert video, On the Night, when Knopfler plays Brothers in Arms in the rain to end the show. Spinetingling.
