Probaly depends on what your religion is. The better question is, if you could live forever, what would you live for?
Immortals have no God has they won't meet their maker. So in order for there to be meaning, there has to be death. At least humans and their inferior minds belive that there has to be meaning. If you took religion from the world, it would be chaos. Imagine if a scenario like Torchwood: Miracle Day happened. Religons would see a dramatic decrease. If God only exists in the mind, and when the mind determines it has no end...then there is no purpose. When we were given the ablity to think, we want to leave a legacy. So people know who we were. If you take away death, you take away legacies. Sorry.... ![]() Last edited by linkgx1; 07-10-2011 at 01:35 PM. |

I've always believed the answer is to leave a legacy of some kind. Either through a professional accomplishment that makes an impact in the world, or by simply starting a family, raising children, and procreating the human species. Most of us will probably lean toward the latter.

Which makes me think, we're nearly 7 billion people. Should nearly 10 billion by the middle of this century. The question is, would population control be moral? Especially because there tends to be a tie/ratio of wealth-to-birth rate. |
