Hear hear! Once you watch season 1, you'll never look back. It is worth it, really.

About 45 mins. But you'd never think that once you start getting into it, the time just goes by so quickly.

Damn that's going to be a lot of TV over 15 seasons . Anyway, I just bought Season 1 from play.com for £5.69 (with student discount ).

Will report back in a few days/weeks .

Amen to that! One of the only shows I can watch without looking at the timer to see how long is left! It's just so special. And scenes like the end of the season 1 finale give you such a warm feeling. Remember once you start watching you'll definitely want to buy the complete collection and it'll go so fast!

That's brilliant! You will love it for sure! First night I watched like the first four episodes! First episode is about 80 mins and then every episode varies from about 42-47 minutes. All in all it's about 240 hours of television!!! And yeah, let us know what you think!

True that. That event was very moving indeed, although I didn't like they handled some of the other events of that sort...

Aw, I loved Anthony Edwards. Truly, truly sad when
[Show spoiler] he died.
And yeah, I wasn't too happy when some of the other characters were dispatched such as
[Show spoiler] Romano vs the Helicopter

Oh...Zavvi ships the box only within UK. Surprise surprise. That leaves me only Amazon marketplace(£80) and HMV(£80). Amazon stopped selling it after people were complaining about some DVDs not working(?).

edit. Here's one http://www.boxsetcollection.com/er-c...ion-p-260.html

Does that look legit? The box set Amazon was selling had like 48 discs and this Chinese import has 92?
Hmmm... tbh, doesn't really look too legit and episodes may be recorded of TV or something dodgy? And that's weird because I've played all the discs in the Amazon UK boxset and not one of them had a problem. Believe me there was nothing wrong with any of them (although I did buy it in-store HMV)

By the way, the Amazon boxset has 48 discs at 3/4 per season which are double sided with about 3 or 4 episodes on each side of the disc

Anyway, I'd definitely recommend you buy the UK box from HMV or Amazon, but maybe wait a few weeks just in case it comes down in price. There's nice packaging inside and everything and it's great quality for the price!

I hate them too! No artwork!! But it probably would be twice as expensive if they used 90-odd single sided discs

I got my set for my birthday. It cost £70 in HMV when I last saw it last year.

Yeah, I picked it up last May for £70 in store HMV. By Christmas it went up to £80! Best set I ever bought ever. Value for money!

I emailed Warner tonight about the Chinese import and also if they're going to release a new set anytime soon either on DVD or Blu-ray. Let's see what they reply.
Ooh, fingers crossed they say they're considering a Blu-ray release for the future!!!!

Alas, the usual, bland and heartless reply from WB. But one day they will come to their senses and release ER. I might send an e-mail to them about Friends, see if they say anything...

An unnecessary, un-selfish act of unwarranted kindness!! Wow. This goes against everything I've ever come to understand about Warner Bros. Mindf***!!!!

Yeah, pick them up one at a time. That way you get to savor the excitement of opening ER on DVD 15 times!!

I had only watched a few episodes when I paid the £70 for the complete set though, bit of a blind buy for me! Worth. Every. Penny!!! I do that a lot though, ridiculously expensive blind buys, did it with Frasier and Friends too (and now awaiting Blu releases for both of them!! )

I think I watched about 10 seasons, 10-15. The first few seasons I missed. I was 1 when the show started in 1994, but as soon as I started, I loved it. Couldn't stop watching it after that.
