lighting issues in open room

I am plannung to purchase a home wuth the only home theater option being a large open room on the second floor. I do have the option to hang a fair amount of curtains to control basically all the lighting. I will attempt to come up with a diagram shortly to give a good idea of exactly what the room looks like. Id also like to put a projector up assuming I can control most of the light
