Actually he's not saying that Vista sucks, he's saying you can always get better.

I thought he was saying that the next OS will come out and then he can admit that he should have re-done Vista...

that's how I took it anyways..

Windows Vista also works for me and I will take it over XP anyday. The real line here is it could've been much better. While under the hood it's more secure and the printer/sound stock is more modern and the entire layout has a fresh coat a paint, it still has the visual basic exploration that makes it not much diffrent from xp. Alot of features were cut such as the WinFS. You look at the advances that the latest mac version has, it's far superior usage. Im not sure what to expect at this point of what there next version is going to be like.

The sound layer, unforunately, was also a step backwards. I understand why they removed Sound from the HAL [it drastically improves system stability... sound IO calls are prolly some of the most prone to kerbooming], but it still rather sucks, would have hope they rather rework said calls to prevent those problems.

Vista makes my home built q6600 (quad core) w/ 4GB DDR2-800 ram machine run like my 2.4GHz single core processor w/ 1 GB DDR (pc2700) ram (bought in sept 2002).
It is a hog and doesn't ever allow my PC to shut down. It ALWAYS hangs up on the preparring to shut-down screen

i always find it funny that everyone forgets that the exact same complaints were said for xp as for vista. and in a year or 2 we'll all forget and they'll be talking about a new os and we'll say the same thing..i'm happy with vista..i'm not upgrading

oh you people crack me up
