I wonder if the FSK stickers will be removable or part of the artwork? I don't see these re-releases staying at that price for long as a few of the titles i can get on forums in the UK for less than that.

It's a pity though as looks like steelies are being devalued.

Most of the other German re-releases had their FSK stickers printed on (Gran Torino, Beowulf, Hangover, etc.). Besides, these weren't all that valuable to begin with (no inside artwork, order from Amazon.de worldwide, etc.).

I don't think this is the end of the world.

LOL...once again...

whoever is making these decisions need to be FIRED and lose his/her job for life.

It was a fun hobby in collecting steeelbook while it lasted.

I don't mind them re-releasing them, but stop calling it "limited", etc. And lower the price...

Just a matter of time they will re-release Rambo, Iron Man, and all the rare pieces....

I think it really depends. I mean, how many Media Markt or Saturn exclusives have been reprinted? Unless I am mistaken, I don't think any have, only the Steels that are not exclusive to any one dealer in Germany seem to have been reprinted.

Just my opinion, but if its a Media Markt or Saturn exclusive, I think it will remain collectible for a while, at least until the next format comes out.

that's why someone needs to be fired....

calling it LIMITED and then re-release the same title and continue to call LIMITED.

how about releasing a title that hasn't been released yet? LOL...

or not calling it LIMITED? LOL...

Paramount have lost the plot.

Instead of re-releasing steelbooks that, aside from Tropic Thunder and Transformers, were not that great to begin with, how about if they cancel the re-releases, and put the money towards new a new batch of FS style Iron Man 1 steelbooks, but for a worldwide release this time?

It would make alot of steelbook fans happy.

I don't think they have the distribution rights to iron man in Germany

I know, and to be honest, I never understood why that was.

They distribute a whole load of their property in Germany, but draw the line at the Iron Man franchise? Why is that?

Seriously? How about watching a movie made for adults. Don't think either of these will be nominated for an award any time soon. Saving Private Ryan, No Country for Old Men, Collateral, Event Horizon, & even Star Trek all great movies even for the average taste.

I MUST be missing something & you're talking about artwork?? But Star Trek, Saving Private Ryan, & even Transformers all have different cover work than what was on the original release (granted they are the same as what was on normal blu-ray) but maybe it appeals to some more than the past ones.

Back on the topic though....I'd much rather see new titles, but in no way does re-releasing affect my collection at all. I like Steelbooks because they are cool, not cause they're so called rare. Yes, it's a bonus, but I don't plan to ever sell anything in my collection, so could care less on it's value. To each their own, & I understand people collect for different reasons. I just hope to see more quality movies released in steelbooks rather than the "Summer Blockbuster" which is typically more hype than substance. But alas, the industry is driven by what sells & not by what is the most enduring.

My comment you replied to was about the quality of the original steelbooks, which was below expectations in terms of steelbook standard, not the movies themselves.

I was suggesting, that Paramount stop wasting money on steelbooks that weren't that great to begin with, and instead, in re-releasing a super-rare quality steelbook, but worldwide.

PS: You were arguing against a personal opinion.

That was the whole reason I looked in this thread. I have no problem with re-releasing steelbooks especially Iron Man because it sells for ridiculous prices. There's no reason why they can't open them up and make them available to everyone that wants them. Limited Edition and Exclusivity is just a bunch of marketing B.S. anyway.

Paramount will release the new version of Justin Bieber: Never Say Never on February 25th in 3D theaters. It is being labeled an updated, director's fan cut. It will be in theaters for a one-week, exclusive run. There will be 40 minutes of new footage and it will replace the original version which came out two weeks ago.
