is profile 1.1 just for supplements and stuff? or is it a new type of disc that will make me buy a new playert, or hopefully just a firmware update

it is just for pip so most suplaments you will still get evenw ith out it

(pip=picture in picture)

Same disc, specifically for picture in picture features

Your non 1.1 player will simply ignore those features, it's very possible they won't show up on your menus

I am not a big fan of those types of distractions, even if they need to be turned on. Do people really want features like that? I just want to watch the movie.

If you read AVS, there is no possible way to enjoy a movie with out it.

I personally find them annoying too. I got War just to see profile 1.1 in action. I turned it off after about 2 minutes.

i love how hd dvd is better because of the extras it can support. they do get really annoying after sometime.

i have resident evil extinction and it says picture in picture but i dont see it in the menus. is there a way to turn it on?
my bluray was purchaced in december 07 it should be 1.1 correct?

no unless your bd player is a ps3 or panny bd-30
it only any new blu-ray players introduced since november

thanks no i can curse the 360 i bought. i wish i would have laid down the extra money and got the ps3!

ill wait for the 2.0 it does a lot more than pip will wait for player decoding DTS HD MA.
