Default Problems with Dot By Dot on Pioneer PDP-LX508D

When i play back Blu-Ray or Dvd through PS3 on dot by dot(full pixel) on Pioneer i get a vertical line of white pixels on very right hand side of image. I e-mailed Pioneer on-line help who suggested the Pioneer was not understanding the signal sent out by the PS3 and that i may need a stand alone Blu-Ray player or Plasma might be faulty. however I also have a theory and need some advice. I have read that because my plasma is a 36 bit 1080p display which is HDMI 1.3 compatible and the hdmi lead im using is specifically for PS3 gaming (Monster) and is not 1.3 this could be the problem. some teccy jargon about EDID was also explained which i could not understand. Any body care to enlighten me? I cant afford a stand alone Blu Ray player seeing as i have invested so much in the Plasma.

your hdmi cable should be fine.

ive never heard of this being a problem with the ps3 and you def. don't need a standalone.

my best guess it that it is the tv, though im not an expert.

I assume that you are talking about the far right side of the picture borderlining the edge? I have the 5010 Pioneer and do not have those HDMI problems, so it has to be the monitor. It sounds like the monitors framing is off on that input. You can have a pro. center the monitor properly, if this is the case.

Most times there are settings on the monitor/tv that allow you to move the frame around a bit.

When Plasma is in Dot by Dot mode it does not allow the framing to be adjusted, also is your Pioneer connected with a ver 1.3 HDMI cable?

It has a 1.3 cable. You can adjust the framing. But a calibrater needs to adjust it through the service menu. You can not do it properly from the standard menu.

Try to switch the view mode to something other than dot by dot, then try to move the screen position to where you would like. Then switch it back to dot by dot and see if the screen adjustments that you made also changed dot by dot. Just a thought.

Have tried that to no avail, will wait till a Pioneer stand alone Blu-Ray comes down in price, till then will watch in full 16:9.
