USA A follow up Pioneer Elite SC 09tx

Will pioneer Elite ever make a follow up to the SC 09tx ampilifer wise I think it's the best receiver ever made but it's outdated it can't do 3d blu ray. I think Pioneer Elite should make a follow up to this since they have made a follow up the the sc 35 and sc 37

Doubtful. They have just released the SC55 and SC57. First of all, in a blind A/B test, I'm not sure you can tell the difference (unless you find the newer models better). They have claimed to reduce distortion substantially over the SC35 and SC37, although it was already very low.

What does the SC09tx do that the newer models don't do (aside from the macho size and weight)? The fact is that there's not a big market for this stuff, especially at the high end.

what I like about it is that it give 200 watts at 8ohms and it has 10.2 channels I just hate the fact that it can't do 3d Blu ray. I also love the fact that it had a ICE amp I know everybody can't afford things like this but there is a small market for very high end items like. I think that is pioneer elite were to make a follow up to this it would be the best receiver every made

Well part of the reason Pioneer did away with the ICEpower amps and developed their own Class D amps for the SC series was because previous models with the ICE amps weren't ideal with lower impedance speakers. Yeah, they could run them but not as well as Pioneer would like especially with all channels driven, and one of the big selling points of the SC series is the ability to drive all channels continuously at full power. There were wild fluctuations with ICE models pushing 4ohm loads. The new models don't have these issues according to Pioneer.

Default 3D Blu-ray, there is a way to embrace it and keep the SC-09

Quote from you: "I just hate the fact that it can't do 3d Blu ray."

There is a way to go around it, think back to the source.

Value blu-ray player models with 2 HDMI outputs
1. Samsung D6700
2. Panasonic 310

Higher end models with 2 HDMI outputs
1. OPPO 93
2. OPPO 95
3. Onkyo 809

Main HDMI output 3D image direct to 3D TV, sub HDMI output the (TrueHD, dTS-MA) sound to HDMI 1.3 receiver HDMI input. Panasonic calls them 'legacy receivers'.

Thus you can keep your SC-09 and enjoy 3D TV and HD sound at the same time.

I am doing SC-05 with Panasonic 310; and they are fine.

USA Thanks for the 3d info

I had no idea that it was possible at all to do 3d blu ray with this receiver. Now I do.

When using this "work around" for 3D on "legacy" receivers, have you noticed any lip sync issues since you are using one output for the video and another for the audio...just curious?
