![]() ![]() Meet Me In St. Louis Blu-ray Meet Me In St. Louis Blu-ray Review Announced for the middle of December. This one is important because it's one of MGM's most sumptious looking Technicolor features. The clips in That's Entertainment look as good as I've ever seen a bluray look. I'm looking forward to this one. Last edited by Scottie; 03-28-2018 at 03:12 PM. |

was wondering when this was coming out since Warner had mentioned it earlier this year.
one of my most anticipated Fall titles for sure. really hope Fox announces a musical for this Fall also. the 1940's will always be my favorite film decade I think. the breadth of excellence is unparalleled in any other decade imo, although the 50's comes very close. so many amazing war films, comedies, musicals, dramas, and, of course, film noir masterpieces. My second favorite Garland film after Oz. While I was kind of hoping for new supplements, I won't complain since the DVD ones were excellent. I'm assuming we're getting a new restoration for this since the 2004 one was 2K. The HD clips of that master from the That's Entertainment discs were gorgeous. I can only imagine how much better it'll look with a new (8K?) restoration.
Now we just need Easter Parade to complete what I consider the big four of Garland's filmography: The Wizard of Oz, Meet Me in St. Louis, Easter Parade, and A Star is Born. It'd be nice if that film got a digibook the way Star and now Louis are getting. The three would look mighty nice together on my shelf (I've got Oz placed separately next to my other UCEs). Of course, I wouldn't say no to an HD release of any kind for Summer Stock and The Harvey Girls. |

Agreed. The photoshopped art in the background is nice enough (though a little empty), but I really don't like that font. They couldn't have come up with something more turn-of-the-century-looking? Oh, well. It's the disc that matters.
