Default A Scanner Darkly

I was very disappointed in this movie and i did not like it at all. Its confusing, too bored to watch rest of the movie. I did not like the cartoonish look, i thought it probably would be better if they didnt add cartoonish look. Anyone on same BOAT or you liked it? Explain why?

sucks!

I always look at that movie and think about picking it up as a blind buy. It was on the $10 off promotion and I almost got it. Why exactly don't you care for the movie?

The movie is not for everyone but it has it's moments. It's slow and complex without a big payoff but it's entertaining.

It may have been a great movie, but I hate the effect they used over the actors.
Seriously was a huge turn off, and made it unwatchable.

This is a 'small' movie. It is an art house film with the acting, directing and writing pedigrees of a major blockbuster. It's a contemplative and methodical journey that is deliberately vague. Not your standard Hollywood fare, but that can be a good thing.

hey let us not all forget that this was a Phillip K. Dick Novel before it was a film. I can think of another film Blade Runner. I agree the effect used can get annoying but I understand why they did it. Its annoying to me because its the same as the charles scwabb commercials.

the movie is really intricate and strange. I can see why a lot of people wouldnt like it. No offenses but usually more intellectual people enjoy it because theres no blind stupid shooting in it. And I loved the way they melded real life and cartoon. And the PQ on my 720p TV was AMAZING, can't imagine a 1080. If you can get it for $20 or less its a good one to have in your collection

It felt like an old acid flashback.

like the first time I watched Pink Floyds "The Wall".

It was an interesting film, and the PQ was pretty incredible...I really liked the cell shading. Unfortunately, the ending was kind of weak/anticlimactic. I still feel it was a decent buy though, not really your typical hollywood film.

I thought it was one of the best films of the year, but I love Linklater and the rotoscoping animation style as well.

I can definitely say that this is not a film for everyone. The animation is a bit of a turn-off, but I understand why they did it.

I have been a fan of PKD's works and my wife and I enjoyed it. It was very different.

They say that this was a very personal story told by the author. He had a lot of his friends destroyed by drugs and felt that he had to say something about the subject in a medium he understood.

Not to mention, I picked it up at BB for $15.00. That didn't hurt!!

I liked it. I understood it. I liked the very wry sense of humor than runs though it and Robert Downey Jr is always incredible. Not for the PS3 kids, go get The Rock,(not that I've anything against The Rock, which em...rocks), instead.

I loved the movie, the art style, complex story. Only a few of my friends enjoy it, the other thought it was a waste of time. I loved it, especially the art style.
