One thing you could try. If you have not done so already, insert a 4 GB or larger SDHC card (1GB SD card minimum will work but 4GB offers more storage) into the Panasonic Blu-ray player so that BD-LIVE is activated. Then connect the player to the Internet and turn on BD-LIVE and networking options. Format or clear the SD card so it is blank. Sometimes there is a software glitch with a movie or player that requires BD-LIVE to be operational on some Blu-ray titles. Last edited by HDTV1080P; 04-24-2011 at 08:37 PM. |

I don't have the problem you're describing but I just had a BD-80 stop recognizing discs after only seven months of light use.
I didn't have to do a lot of searching to find several posts from people who had the same issue. I'm not saying that's a general indictment of Panasonic players (or even of that generation of players) but it wasn't exactly a confidence builder either. (It's currently on its way to the one and only repair center in Texas - we'll see how they handle it from there). |

I no longer install firmware updates on any of my players at all because of this. However my son has a Panasonic DMP 60 and it too worked just fine until the last 3 updates he says. I dont know exactly what firmware version no. currently is on his machine but he installs them as soon as they are available and the date today is 06-07-11. His machine has been acting very eratic for about 3 months and is now getting much worse since the latest update. He says now the player is pretty much unresponsive to almost all BD disc. I have had many players die before so I went over to take a look at how it is acting and there is no doubt in my mind that his disc drive is ok, so most likely it is going to be up to Panasonic to hopefully get these machines restored again with another pathetic update. Once again BAD FIRMWARE UPDATES HAVE KILLED A GREAT INVENTION. I opt to just watch BD movies on my new machines and do not even have mine hooked up to the internet and have never had another problem on any of my new machines. Out of the box NEVER install another firmware update again on a new machine and I promise you this problem will go away. Its a choice, they will work fine without updating them. If you like to stream and use BD-LIVE then you have no choice but to rely on these pathetic updates.

Hi,
I have Panasonic DMP BDT210 player which I bought recently. When I tried to access youtube/netflix etc using the viera cost button, they work without any sound. Once in a while, I get sound output. I have no idea what is going on. I use a HDMI cable to connect to my tv. My tv is Philips 42" LCD. The player works with Blu-ray discs smoothly and I get nice picture and sound. Any help is appreciated |

But there is no sound for any viera cast apps...and some time get sound for all the apps....I want to check whether any audio setup adjustments are needed...I have setup automatic updates for the player....so, if that does not show any pending updates, it means my player is completely updated, isn't it..?

Purchased Panasonic DMP-BD60 Region A player two years ago, now its having trouble reading Blu-ray movies that used to play just fine. I noticed the player refuses to read more Fox titles now (500 Days of Summer, Take Me Home Tonight, Taken) and Region A only coded discs (Hobo With A Shotgun) in general.
Firmware has been updated several months ago, though the problem already slowly started before that (skipping, distorted picture during the asylum scene in The Wolfman. Since the U.S. disc is region free it plays without the skipping on my Region B player). Bought a Blu-ray laser lens cleaner which seems to temporary solve dust sensitive playback issues in some cases (Piranha 2010, Region A), but I'm not sure if dust is responsible for the problems mentioned above. Any idea what this problem might be? Last edited by Leslie Dame; 08-24-2011 at 08:33 AM. |

Anyone know why Panasonic hasn't released a firmware update for the BD65 in almost a year? Not that I'm having issues, but it seems like they have totally forgotten this player. I've only had mine for a little less than a year.
