Comix Wave wouldn't allow Manga to release a Blu-Ray, even Region B locked. Manga should never have announced it and put it up for pre-order in the first place mind.

I just recently got 5 Centimeters Per Second through Crunchyroll's daily deal, but I'll definitely double-dip. I'm a fan of Shinkai's work. Now November is looking like an expensive month what with all the Ghibli films and Shinkai's blu-rays. Still, this is great news.

My only concern is with Voices of the Distant Star (25 mins) and She and Her Cat (5 mins). Will there be enough space on the BD for it to breathe. Wasn't the original non-subtitle version only one disc?

Considering that 5 Centimeters per Second is a kind of short film, and that the two extras are not only 30 minutes in length total AND in SD, they really shouldn't take up too much space at all to begin with. You could probably squeeze all the content on to a BD-25 without any compression issues whatsoever.

If you have a copy of Japanese version with booklet full of alien letters, now you will find what they are:)

Will this global edition get an international release? I hope so, or importing may be the only option, also the Yesasia website says region A, if it's not region free, then that'll be problematic.
