Any Canadian members ordered for this movie but haven't received it yet? I ordered it from Bandai Entertainment's web store in August and it's still "processing". The Canadian street date is Oct. 4, according to Amazon CA and HMV CA, but having seen "not in stock" on and off on both Canadian and American websites, I'm wondering if there's a distribution and/or supply problem.

I live in the U.S., and my copy took about 9 days to arrive from Rightstuf.com since it was on backorder. But I just barely now finished watching it and the movie was really good.
Now it's time for me to continue playing my limited edition copy of The Reminiscences of Haruhi Suzumiya PS3 version. |

I finally nabbed the BD at the music store on the east side of town last week. It doesn't play on my Magnavox BD player even with the latest update, but it works on my Sony laptop (same situation with my Castle of Cagliostro BD, only this one plays normally on my Magnavox except the menu buttons don't appear and thus I'm trapped on the menu until I hit the stop button, then when I press play it returns me back where I started when I put it in). What's going on? Is my Magnavox BD player finally out of date?

Sadly, it's true. What I decided to do with it was to put it in my dedicated anime DVD shelving next to my Haruhi DVDs (both Seasons 1-2 and Haruhi-chan)...

Bandai also made a version of the movie that only has the movie plus Extras disc without the Blu-ray version. |

Yes, I have played other movies on my Magnavox and they work perfectly (save for my Blu-ray 3D discs from Disney, which require a 3D player, which I think I got in the form of Corel software).

Having been long out-of-print, it's really good news that Funimation has licensed Disappearance of Haruhi for release on May 30. It should come in a BD-sized case this time...

That, and the supply side of the equation likely picked up steam by people selling their old copy in anticipation of the Funi release to complete the box set, further depressing prices. I'm usually good at remembering such things; I must be having an off day if I couldn't even think of that off the top of my head... ![]() Last edited by svenge; 02-15-2017 at 08:01 PM. |

I already own the original Bandai release, but I am so happy to see it getting a re-release. I plan on re-buying it so I can put it in the ultimate collectors edition. My only problem with this is that the artwork doesn't match up with the rest of the cases in the collectors edition. Makes me wonder if Funimation plans on maybe doing some kind of limited edition with alternate artwork and some extras?
