Boooo. I am slightly interested though. I'll be curious to hear about sound quality, etc. closer to when it releases.

I have a Turtle Beach USB Headset, works great, over a year old. I can hear everything and people always remark on how well they can hear me. I'd be curious what the audiophiles of head-fi.org will think of the sound quality though. My Turtle Beach has simulated surround. It adds a lot of hiss, but does seem like a wider soundstage.
300 reviews on Amazon, 4/5 star average rating. $60.
I've had my headset for about 15 months and I think that's happened twice. And it was after a few days of long BC2 sessions. I think you exaggerate how often that happens. Yes, it does, but it's not daily, or even weekly for that matter.

Unless you're 14 years old playing black ops 16 hours a day.

Some people don't like cables going across their room. I had a wired headset for awhile and I hated having the cable across the room, in my lap or over my chair. It just bugs me. For a headset, I'd rather have wireless/bluetooth.

Have to wait and see how the quality is. I play my controllers until I get the low battery signal, I don't play a little and then put them on the charger. I'd like to see a comparison between the 7.1 Turtle Beach and Sony. Since the Turtle Beach goes through a Dolby decoder, probably works with Blu ray along with XBOX, PC, Mac. As for cables, its the price to pay for better performance.

It's only a price to pay if you prefer that over wireless.

True. I also like having the chat volume, game volume, bass volume, surround on/off, chat on/off all at my fingertips. I might consider it IF I could control them on the fly like I can now.

Finally, I've been searching for something like this I can use while playing at night I hate playing with no sound late at night. I'll wait for reviews like someone else said.

This is 35% off on Amazon!

http://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Stere.../dp/B0053OLY9O

It's ugly and obviously we won't know how good it is until closer to the release date, but at $65, I'll at least pre-order it!

This new headset seems nice but I've been using the original PS Bluetooth headset that came with SOCOM a few years back with no issues. I guess if I didn't have a good surround system already I might be more interested in this particular headset. But for $65, it's not a bad deal!

The price is half or less of the competition, so my Spidey Senses are tingling. Like to see an honest, unbiased review first. How long is the battery life? How adjustable is it? How well made is it (durable)? How comfortable is it? How is the sound quality? I have a wired head set and its a couple of years old. Because I don't spend the time on it I used to so battery life is no longer an issue and because the area would look neater, I am more interested in this then when it was first announced.

As for Bluetooth headsets, they may be OK for many users, but for the other people playing the game they SUCK because everyone can hear that person's game in the background and its annoying as all get out. Those headsets were originally designed for cell phone use where there isn't a loud game playing in the background.

That is why you tell those people to pull their heads out of their asses and turn the main volume down when playing with others to be a considerate human being.
I can't stand those people. Especially, the ones blasting their rap.

Well, if the game has the feature I usually mute them since many would rather berate you then comply with a reasonable request to turn their crap down or they don't speak Engrish. Sometimes though, in games like TDU2, that feature is not an option.

Well the price is back up to $99. Since its a pre-order, I would check and see if it went back up in your orders section because I think there is a note about price flux for pre-orders.

The stereo headset's officially releasing September 6th in North America.

The mic doesn't appear to stick out too far if you're not using it.

The extra status icon appears to be for the virtual 7.1 surround sound. Analog slider for volume control.

I'm more interested in the honey on his couch and the U3 footage

Seriously though, I might consider it if I can get it for $70, I missed the Amazon-pre-order markdown.

Wonder if itll work on PC. Amazon has that it does but that description has been removed from the Playstation site. Im in the market for some headphones so these are looking pretty good. Just wish Sony would give out more details.

FYI, if you preorder Modern Warfare 3 from Amazon you get $10 off of the 3 COD headsets coming out with the game that range in price from $99-$299. They are due out in October. http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.htm...d_i=B005CGL1LE

As for the pre-order price drop, I am not sure that is the price you are going to pay. Amazon guarantees that if the price drops at shipment, you will get that lower price, but since it only dropped briefly and went back up, I don't know if you get to keep the brief drop or not.

The MW3 are little on the expensive side. The $120 model seems to be for PC.

I think the $99 is PC, the $120 is PC, XBOX and PS3.
