Cool Apple Keynote coverage

Well it is official. Although the Macworld expo is due to start today, the Keynote is going to be on Tuesday, tomorrow!

Here is a great way to get live coverage and the time table of when you can see it in your time zone:
http://www.engadget.com/2008/01/15/l...-jobs-keynote/

Lets hope that Blu-ray somehow makes its way into Steve Job's keynote presentation.
I would ask any insiders if they can shed light on this, but I doubt anyone can as Apple is very secretive about these kinds of things.

So check back tomorrow and see what Apple rolls out!

UPDATE: Engadget has started coverage of Macworld. They are not in yet, but the keynote should start in a little over half an hour.

UPDATE: The keynote has begun. Check with Engadget and Apple for up-to-the-minute updates.

UPDATE: Watch the entire keynote here:
http://events.apple.com.edgesuite.ne...rnal=fj2l3s9dm

UPDATE: Gizmodo reports that Apple met with a Final Cut Pro group today (1/16) and revealed a new feature on Final Cut Pro. No Blu-ray was mentioned.
Quote:
Update: Crunchgear says the secret's out, and it's going to be integrated Redcode inside Final Cut Studio. This means there will be native Red support, editing that 4k video image at a lower resolution so you won't have to tax your box looking at 4k pixels whenever you're editing.

we can only hope that blu-ray gets mentioned in the keynote! that would be great!

for the die hard apple fans out there, like myself, point your iphone browser to MacRumorsLive.com for a specially formatted version of coverage (provided by macrumors.com). Text and photo updates will be pushed to your device.

Thanks CptGreedle!

man I wish I had an iphone!!! I woudl so be on that!
But I am still under contract with Verizon, and can't afford a new phone right now.
But i will be sure to check it out regardless. I hope the Phone can go to other networks soon.. it is annoying not having access to it just cause I'm on verizon.

I might be a die hard apple fan.. but I am a frugal apple fan that has to watch his money.... (as it flies out the window )

Just waiting for Sprint to get the iPhone--they have exceptionally good coverage in Nashville. As much as I'd love to have one, my wife and I's corporate plan (only with Sprint) is too good to give up: Two phones (currently both Treo 650's), 2000 anytime minutes, unlimited nights/weekends starting Friday @ 7pm, unlimited PCS-to-PCS, unlimited hi-speed data and text messaging, voicemail and the whole 9 yards for $74/mo total with tax. It's unbeatable.

From what I hear, the iPhone/Verizon agreement is a 2-year exclusive deal, so I'll be waiting a while.

I hope that the second generation iphone won't be stuck to at&t, I must say I would enjoy the flexibility in plans, especially for texting.

I was fortunately kicked off the family plan after I graduated college (this past may), which just happened to be about 2 weeks before release. needless to say I was one of the first 20 in line!

a while ago I heard plans to include ipod compatiable files on upcoming blu-rays.....last week I saw rumors that the upcoming release of family guy will include a feature to "import to itunes"...I don't think your that far off!

man this stuff is just pouring in....

wired

and not sure how I missed this...but according to a leaked outline of the keynote tomorrow:

"Mac Pro

Blu-Ray option to be rolled out to all Macs within 18 months, starting with Mac Pro - available now.

Mac Mini & Apple TV

New product that converges the Mac Mini & Apple TV:
- Thinner & wider that Mac Mini, thicker than Apple TV. Designed to be horizontally or vertically mounted.
- Blu-Ray and hard drive options.
- Graphics capabilities in-line with the iMac.
"

its probably fake, but its got a lot of accurate information, so if someone faked it they knew their shit and took their time....it could be true, either way, its good to know someone is thinking bout us

This may help you out if you are following the keynote: Substitute the word "Air" for "Thin"

A Mac Mini that is basically a 2.0 compliant BD player with a color touch screen remote would be an amazing device.

A computer that looks like the Asus eee with Leopard on it would be sweet. There's hacks online already, but if Apple did such a thing it be so amazing, even if it costs more than the eee, which I'm sure it will. I know their releasing the Mac Book Mini, but it doesn't look as nice as the eee I think, plus it be perfect for those trying to get into the Mac OS (sort of like the Mac Mini).

Also check www.apple.com for live coverage as well.

They usually post a video of the entire keynote as well as a shorter one of just the main event (like the iphone last time), and leave that up for a few days.
But they should also have a live event coverage on their site.
