Default Samsung UN55D800 Questions

I just bought one of these about a month ago, it was an update for my Mitsubishi DLP. I bought it for the clarity, of the motion plus. I am have a tough time trying to recreate that at home. I have the motion plus on, and set to Cinema. But sometimes the Lips are off, I dont know if this is a whole other problem, or not. It looks like I am watching a Godzilla movie. I am starting to think I liked my DLP better...... Any suggestions on settings to help me fix this issue?

Oh and also there is a faint line going through the bottom half of the screen, it kinda bugs me. Its just a shade or 2 lighter than the rest of the picture.

LOL your Godzilla comment made me chuckle.

I have the 46" model of that TV, as far as I'm aware they're virtually identical besides the screen size. I have my Auto Motion Plus on and I'm also set to cinema. I've never had a problem with the lips not matching the words, or that different shaded line that you speak of. So I wouldn't directly attribute it to your settings.

I guess my only question is, are you using a surround sound system, or just playing it through the TV?

Im using an Onkyo 609 now. I had a 605 before and it was the same issue with both of them. I am running the Blu-ray through the PS3, maybe the settings on there are not correct for the TV? To tell you the truth I have no idea what half of these options are on either the PS3 or the TV..... They should have a class. I am just really worried that the line is banding, the lighter the picture is the more it shows up. I dont want to call unless I am 100% sure it is.

Hmmm..well the only thing I can think of is to try listening to something without the Onkyo, see if you find different results with the lip sync issue. Now that you mention it, I think I do see some 'banding' on my screen, but it's vertical. It doesn't happen often, so I barely pay mind.

Also, about those PS3 settings, I found this article very helpful.

It's funny because I'm constantly playing with the settings, it's borderline OCD lol. I usually keep it on Custom.

Blur Reduction 10
Judder Reduction 7

Hope it helps any!
