Question Which is a better option?

For audio quality, does it matter if (for the Onkyo HT-SP908 system) you use wall mounts, ceiling mounts, or stands for the speakers as long as they're pointed in the right direction?

I'm glad no one watches me when I'm trying to set up speakers - craning my neck, crouching, tilting my head...

Keep them as close as possible to head height, while seated. Furniture blocks sound, so too low and it bounces around something awful - ruins spatial references for sound.

I hate ceiling mounts - exspecially the flat ones. I've seen them set up right, but again, it's difficult to do, as the dispersion angle for the speaker may deflect sound from flat surfaces, the floor, etc - and most people just don't know how to do it.

If you do a wall mount, be sure to get mounts that angle downward. and don't be afraid to point them in cockeyed-looking positions, based on the sound that results from the positioning. And don't let people watch you during the positioning process, you could wind up getting dragged to the psych ward, especially if they videotape it.
