Gone Baby Gone - Blu-ray Forum

Can I get some honest feedback on this movie? I've seen the blu-ray trailer for this film multiple times over the weekend and I'll admit it looks good but then I read that it was written by the same guy who wrote Mystic River which I thought was a snoozefest.

Mods if there's already a thread for this, which I tried searching for, could you please merge them?

I thought it was a fantastic movie. One of the best this year.

I liked it a lot, but then again I like Mystic River. I'd say if you didn't like Mystic River, give this one a rent first because it's a little slow.

It was fantastic. Ben might not be much of an actor anymore but he sure did a great job in his directing debut. Casey was fantastic, as per usual and everyone else was absolutely amazing. This is by far one of the best films of the year and I highly recommend this movie to anyone, plus Morgan Freeman is in, and that guy is in everything.

Yea I think Ben did a fantastic job directing this movie. Casey was great also.

I'm about an hour into Gone Baby Gone now and the PQ is not the best. It's a 3.5 in it's weak scenes to a 4/5 at it's best. It seems to have a lot of grain throughout the movie. The uncompressed audio is good, but since the movie is a "dialogue" movie there are(so far) not a lot of scenes to take advantage of the audio track. You really don't hear much from audio until about 50 mins into the movie (the hills with gun shots).

The movie itself is very good. I saw We Own the night in the theater and it's the better of the two, but both are must buys for me.

The PQ on We Own The Night much better than GBG, but I only put the movie in long enough to chapter through it before watching GBG, but it does look better.

I just got done with GBG. By far one of the best movies I have seen. The PQ was 4-4.5 and the Audio was 5. It was a mainly dialogue driven movie but when it needs to it packs a punch.

This is a rental for me, as I don't see myself watching it more than once. Okay, maybe twice. The story is good, but after you know the story, I don't think it has much replay value. That's just my opinion, of course.

got Gone Baby Gone and We Own Tonight coming tomorrow from Amazon. Plan on watching both this weekend. Can't wait, I have been looking forward to these two for a while
