Default Anyone have neighbors that suck?

Me and my wife n kids have lived here for 5 years now. We are in a very nice neighborhood. The houses are very expensive here and where i stay is very quiet and everyone is nice and minds there own. Next door to me lives a young girl and she has alot of different guys over every night...they park in front of my house and sit out in there car listening to music...being loud...and this is at 3am..she prolly is a drop out because she is either in the cars late at night or sitting in the garage being loud every day! every other day there is a huge amount of trash right there all over the grass and street that i usually pick up so my kids dont get into it...one time i actually picked up what appeared to be a crack pipe and i just threw it away. I havent said anything because there people look like trailer trash to the worst degree...and every once n a while during the day the girl is cussing her parents out and there cussing her out back lol. I can pretty much hear everything from my bedroom while im laying here trying to sleep...i almost decided to call the police and tell them this crap been goin on but i didnt...anyone else have stuff like this happen and what did yall do about it? I hope they move or something lol...

2 things, first off CALL THE POLICE, you shouldn't have to deal with any of that nonsense. 2nd if they happen to be renters and don't actually own the property I would contact the person that does and make them aware of the situation.

Agree. Not much else you can do, but be prepared for blowback. I'd call the cops every single time something like this happened until it either stops or comes to a head. As for the trash, I'd toss it all up against their house and let them deal with it.

Had a similar experience as BirdmanJr. A few years back we had some punk college kids renting the house right next to mine which is owned by my co-workers father. During that time they would literally park on the lawn, throw HUGE parties Friday/Saturday night. Pissed me the hell off because you can hear them scream, run around, litter all their crap on my yard, take up parking spaces, or even block the roads. One time I seen a dude pissing on the wall of the house. Luckily someone had the nerve to finally call the police after weekend after weekend of this crap. They only rented that house for maybe a year, and then I was glad they moved out and currently an old couple is renting that place now who are very nice people.

Also there's college kids reeking havoc down the street in a smaller house. They would congest the parking on the road and I think I remembered I got out of my car and yelled at some dude not getting out of my way.

Anyway, with the housing market down. Owners are selling, or renting and we are getting these punk-ass college kids in these nice quiet neighborhoods.

The bad thing about it is...this is a family next to me...the dad has the stickers redneck real big going across the front of his windshield..Him and his wife and daughter literally cuss each other out loud as they can right outside...i had company over and they was leaving and i was talking with them before they got in there car and here comes that girl and her dad cussing each other then the girl starts crying...my company laughed but i was kinda .....I do agree about throwing the trash back at there yard..but there yard is full already lol...and when i actually pick the trash up i feel like i gotta be the better person and just throw it in my trash can...one day they actually watched me throw out there trash..i dont feel like there doing it against me...just the way they was raised...i could never just throw a pop bottle on the ground...or a bag of mcdonalds cmon!!! I feel like theres always someone that 1 person that messes up a good neighborhood or someone that always messes up a good work enviroment whatever you do...guess my job is to overcome it..somehow....

Ah, the advantages of living in the middle of nowhere...

It's quiet here 99% of the time. But once a year, my neighbors' teenage son across the courtyard throws a party of some kind, so there's noise all throughout the evening. When it happened this year, I woke up to the sounds of some very loud arguing and cursing, which was rather disconcerting. But for these rare occasions, my neighbors were nice enough to post a letter in my mail slot explaining the situation and apologizing for the disruption; the advance notice is much appreciated.

All of my neighbors are old so I've never had a problem with them, and I don't have any parties so I assume they don't have any problems with me. I also live in an established neighborhood with homes that were mostly built in the 50s so the lots are fairly large and the homes aren't very close to each other.

Call the police and let them do their job.

If you are really lucky this women or her friends have records or are in violation of the terms of their probation.

At the least you reported it and keep reporting actual problems with this neighbor. Eventually she will get sick of the cops being at her home and move
or be tossed in the pokey to cool her heels for awhile.

I have horrible neighbors... and I would like to note that over an acre seperates me from the road...1. they shoot their fireworks into our yard. 2. Their horses get out and knock over our trees and eat our garden and they are just like oh... sorry. 3. They let their children and pets wander into our yard and get mad at my dog when they fight. 4. I have caught them outside my house, outside my window because "they were looking for the toy plane"... 5. "What's that? Why did I take your package from UPS and then open it? Oh, I thought it was mine..." 6. "Can I "borrow" a dozen eggs?" (never see those back). 7. They tried out their new push mower in my yard without asking and then wanted to know why I was so pissed... 8. At 1am they start "calling" to the peacocks to get them riled up and screaming... who cares if I was sleeping.. 9. They park their vehicles in front of my mailbox. 10. They took the street sign from the end of the road (so my packages didn't arrive) because they felt people were "playing" with the sign (and never let anyone on the street know they took it).

BirdManJr you seriously need to call the police. Next time. Every time. As pointed out above, if they're renters then you need to notify the homeowner. Also notify the homeowners association if your neighborhood has one. Maybe they can force them to clean the place up some.

LeAnn you need to call the police and have those neighbors of your officially trespassed. That way they can be arrested if they're caught on your property again.

My old man had a similar problem with some neigbours about 2 years ago, but the only difference is it was with their out of control young teenaged kids who were around 12 and 14 years old. I can't speak for the U.S but here in Australia kids of that age are very well protected under our laws, they can almost get away with murder.

These kids would just destroy everything around them, fences, trees and plants, they would graffiti on everything, hurt animals in the neigbourhood, were very loud and often would truant school and throw parties while their parents were at work, every 2nd word out of their mouths was a profanity etc etc. The police were visiting them a few time a week, but the problem was no one ever caught them doing anything that they could actually get in trouble for as they would do it all at all hours of the morning when everyone was asleep.

Their parents just couldn't control them, they weren't the greatest parents but they weren't passing bad habits on to their kids or teaching them to be the way they were, they were trying their best under the circumstances.

My dad had had enough after a while so he decided to just buy a new house (he had been talking about it before all of this happened but this situation just made him act on it quicker) and rent out the other one he had been living in. Their land lord lived overseas (in China I think) so he wasn't aware of how bad it was until he come to visit. Luckly they got evicted after the land lord witnessed everything for himself, but unlucky for him while his house was vacant their kids one night come and destroyed his house about a week or 2 later causing around $30K worth of damage.

At least they got caught in the act because one of them was stupid enough to cut himself quite badly on the broken glass from the window they smashed to get in so they couldn't get away quickly. My brother was actually the one who caught them and stopped them from going anywhere until the police arrived. It's just unfortunate that we don't know what kind of punishment they received but I would almost bet they just walked away with a small slap on the wrist.

I understand that you are not the confrontational type at all and honestly it sounds like you are a really decent guy and a great neighbor, but honestly, things won't change until you are someone else says something. Have you talked to any of your other neighbors about this problem? If, they are half as annoyed as you, maybe they could call the police if you are not comfortable doing it yourself?

Unfortunately we live next to a crotchety old man on house down from ours. He has had a history of caustic and abrasive encounters with the neighbors and being just one house over, we got more then our share of the problems We have two dogs that we let out once in a while into a fenced in yard. If they start barking, we take them in after a few minutes. They are never left outside to run around, howl at night and keep everyone awake. This guy would loose his temper at the drop of a hat, cuss up a storm, throw stuff at the dogs from his yard over our fence even if they barked just a couple of times and then call the police. This played out several times. Finally we went to cort and he got fined for throwing stuff in our yard. Happy ending and he has not bothered us since.
