Sometimes similar movies come out at nearly the same time. Generally this almost begs comparison. For example, it's hard not to talk about The Illusionist without also mentioning "The Prestige". Planned or not, duelling studios pit these movies against each other and ultimately consumers determine the "victor". Here's a couple examples I can think of off the top of my head.
The Illusionist (September 2006) The Prestige (October 2006) Two movies set in the early 20th century about magicians, deception, and murder. Also: Despicable Me (July 2010) Megamind (November 2010) Two animated family movies with supervillains as lead characters who have a change of heart. Can you think of any more?
