Default Which dvd recorder?

My wifes 18 y/o vcr died, which low priced dvd recorder would be good? Dont need anything to fancy, just something that will record on once only & rewritable disks & it would be nice if it had a RF connection, thanks Just found a Toshiba dr420 for 100.00 is that a decent one.

Have you thought about a video input device for your computer? That way you can cut out the commercials, etc. and then burn them to disc?

Other than some of the brands I looked at via Amazon, I really don't know.

I have no experience with stand alone dvdr units.

Anyone else?

I took a chance & ordered the Toshiba rd 430 from wally world for 107.00,also got a cheap air blower to clean the lens on my projector & collectibles for 6.00 maybe it will be better than compressed air which leaks fluid.

I have two panasonic DVD recorders that are outstanding. I use an s-video cable and composite audio cables to connect them to my DVR sets and they record hd (live or recorded) and it looks fantastic (sound is good too). Before I got my second DVR I used the timer record function often and it was great. I highly recommend them. (both have tuners and one of mine has a VCR built in, the other is a stand alone.) The sa is a dmr-ez48k I believe.
