How many blu-rays did you collect before you bought a player to watch them out on or did you have the player first?

I had a ps3 and a whole bunch of blu-rays, but I sold the ps3 and I have been collecting blu-rays right now. I have about 20 blu-rays and maybe in November I might buy a ps3...again.

then got a few for christmas when i got the player. the only one i can remember that i got was The Simpsons Movie

I bought my PS3 first, then started buying blu-rays. Then once I really started moving from DVD to blu-ray I ended up getting a standalone player so as to not burn up my PS3 playing movies on it all the time.

I don't see why you'd buy blu-rays if you can't yet watch them. It would make more sense to go ahead and re-acquire that PS3 first, or at least get a standalone player.

None, but I bought Ratatouille and The Fifth Element (remastered version had just been released) the day I bought my PS3.

Zero, got a Blu-Ray player and a few discs (The Graduate, 2001:ASO, The Matrix, etc.) for Christmas two years ago. Had just bought an HDTV for myself that Black Friday.

I had about 12-15 Blu-ray before I got my PS3 on launch day.

15 movies. I collected those movies over a two month period prior to getting my first Blu-ray player in May of 2009. I thought I was going to buy my first Blu-ray player in around Christmas 2009 but a great deal came up in May.

Shinobi and Transformers. I basically got Transformers for free after a rebate and Shinobi was at a pretty good price.

I probably had about 30-40 before I purchased my Sony PS3 Slim and around 60-70 before I upgraded from an old tube TV to my current 46-inch Panasonic G25 so that I could truly enjoy my movies.

I wouldn't consider my Sony HTiTB proper by any means, but I picked it up for a really good price and it works well in my living room apartment.
