Ok, I have a question and would appreciate opinions on the matter, I have a HD DVR, BD player, a good sound system not the best but very good for now, but my TV well is not so good, I have a 52" 1080i rear projection TV, and I'm tired of it. My problem is I cannot afford a 50" 1080p lcd tv. What I can afford is a sony bravia 40" 1080p lcd tv (on sale this week). My question is should I go from a 52" TV to a 40" TV even though the picture quality will blow me away. The 50" lcd's will not be in my price range for a long time but the 40" is doable this weekend. Should I take the plunge or do you guys think I will regret it because my new TV is 12" smaller than my previous albeit inferior TV?

IMO I'd hold and get what you really want. You don't want to be kicking yourself in the head a few months down the road by not buying what you desired.

I'm looking for a new TV as well and will not settle for anything less than what I have. I've got an Insignia 32 inch 1080i HDTV and want to upgrade to a larger size, a better brand and go up to 1080p.
It all depends on you. Which is more important to you? Screen size or picture quality? |
