I couldnt find a thread for this. Anyway did anyone watch the first auditions? Man that 42 year old chick got some crazy pipes on her and I think she will go very far. Also loved the very last guy who sang his own song. The song was tight and he was damn good. They had some classic funny moments like that dude who sang Like a Virgin haha. Also that chick who screamed at the top of her lungs also auditioned on AGT this past season to haha. I am so happy about the age rules on this one. Much better than what Idol has. Got Em!!

The 13 year old girl shocked the Hell out of me with her performance. It was like the child version of Susan Boyle.

This show is just like AGT in that it's filmed in front of a live audience, they can use music during their performance, and there is no maximum age limit. The only differences are the minimum age is 12, and you're limited to singing talent only...

I liked the show, and Paula's reaction to the guy stripping on stage was just stupid and over the top. Did a producer tell her to do that to make it more interesting for TV audiences? Probably. Going into the boys bathroom to throw up? How original.

I'm not a fan of these audition shows showing the bad performers who are clearly there just to get on TV.
And while I'm ranting, why do these reality shows all have to draw out the "suspense"? Three judges will say yes to any given act, but then all time seems to have to stop while we wait patiently for Simon to say "yes" for some stupid reason... Argh! Thank goodness for PVRs and that Fast Forward button! Stupid reality TV. /End rant lol

I watched it, but thought it was pretty

The host was MIA for the majority of the show, which was a shame because he seems like he would do a good job. I guess later down the line he'll be around more.

They had a few contestants that were good and obviously the ones that were bad. But the bad ones weren't funny (except for the Prince wannabe) like the American Idol shows..which is why I watch those auditions.

I'll probably watch tonight and be done with it though. The only reason I even gave it a chance was Cowell.

Fox’s singing competition show drew a 8.8 household rating, compared to the 14.2 rating for the Idol season premiere last January. In head-to-head competition, the show was beaten by both ABC’s Modern Family (9.7) and CBS’ Criminal Minds (9.0). So X Factor appears to be closer to NBC’s The Voice than Idol ratings-wise, which has actually been more or less Fox’s projection (but not Cowell’s.) CBS’ CSI‘s did OK in its move to Wednesday, dominating the 10 PM hour with a 7.9 rating.

the 42yr old chick wasn't that good at all.... but im comparing her with greats like dionne warwick / aretha franklin / whitney houston etc so i guess that's unfair? or is it?

that 70 day clean user was pretty impressive though and the 13? yr old

Im pissed they got rid of Cheryl Cole though... and using an excuse like her voice is hard to understand.... is just unbelievable.... given Simon and the very thick accented Hosts voice... compared to them Cheryl was beyond clear & understandable

Sherzinger is like a clone of Paula Abdul but younger... at least Cheryl is different

For a much anticipated show, those ratings are low. Watched the first hour last night and it was awful-- hated the auditions just like in AI especially when showing the dreadful, delusional contestants and the show highlighting the two judges-- Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid-- two egomaniacs disagreeing just for the heck of it-- was petty to watch. I'll still give it a chance after the auditions.

This is what I dont understand with the guy that took his pants off. When that happened. Why didnt they pull the plug on him or something right then. Why did they let him continue?

It was not funny, it was nasty. The whole audience hated it also.

To be fair, I'm sure if most of us saw some ugly dude naked / wearing a thong. we'd probably have a sickening reaction too.

oh please im sure her and nicole had to suck mountain loads of uglier guys (record execs) dicks

what i h8 about these shows is the gimmicks they employ in each and every show like the "omg we're totally shocked this was unexpected that this homeless dude has the voice of an angel" in each country the xfactor is in they have at least 1 of those be it the UK/russia/china/etcetc

and the fake rivalries as mentioned with Reid and Cowell etc etc

just show me the contestants sing i dont need a soap opera going on to keep me interested

I was surprised as well. Their were under aged kids in the audience exposing your self like that is basically illegal. Surprised they didn't have the cops arrest him or maybe they just didn't feel like airing that.

So far most of the talent has been less than impressive with the exception of the 13 year old and the 18 year old last night. The guy out of rehab wasn't bad but not sure he will make it through, it's going to be a lot of stress for someone with only 70 days sober.

The rest of the people who made it through wouldn't have even got a chance on Idol or the Voice.

All I got to say is Geo Godley should get together with Simon's old buddy William Hung and sing a duet of "She Bangs"

It's hard to concentrate with Simon's droopy left eye (apparently some bad botox), but that 18 year old girl (don't remember her name) was amazing. She sounded almost exactly like Beyonce, even better actually. But what bugs me about this show, and others like it, is that it's so obvious they throw acts up on TV to get the ratings/OMG reactions. Like that guy that sold his truck who just like, went into a crazy rage. Everyone knows they go through at least two pre-judging panels before they get the chance to be in front of the actual judges, let alone be on TV. I just wonder if those contestants are told they're "good" just so they could be embarrassed, or if they know they're bad and agree to go on TV just to grab viewers.

Man did yall see that dude with the beard who sang "At Last" by Etta Jones? Wow did he shock me. That dude has skills. He needs to clean up and get his appearance together though. Also I thought that was weak when Simon got mad because Paula and Nicole didnt vote yes for that one chick. If it was the other way around Simon wouldnt have changed his vote and the singer wouldnt have gotten a 2nd chance. Got Em!!

He was good and LA Reid pointed out he thought the guy came looking like that on purpose so he would have a big before and after moment.

You are right on Simon but that's kind of how it goes when you basically own the show. He was right though she was better than those 2 were giving her credit for even though she was a little rough around the edges vocally.

This show is a little more like the Voice in where they will be working with the artists more to make them better. That allows them to put acts through that don't have perfect vocals.

Man that little 16 year old tore up Mary J's song. I'm pulling for her. I also like the girl that sang "I want u back".

So far I like this show, to me much better than Idol...the only problem I have or maybe it was with only the auditions was Simon every now and then you would get "that why I bought this show to America" and his "acting" walking off the panel or him throwing the pen..just not Simon like.

LA and Nicole is much better than I thought they would be..
