The Office: season 8 thoughts and discussions

first, sad to say i couldn't find a thread about The Office for season 8 (or in general) so i created one, however, if there is one, of course, mods please merge them.

2. okay season premiere. however there were three big surprises in store:

a)

[Show spoiler]Andy

being named Regional Manager. it does however make tons of sense since

[Show spoiler]he's making a lot of movies and is quite popular

so i'm sure they did this to either

[Show spoiler]make him happy and / or make fans happy and / or capitalize on his fame by pushing him into the "top spot" on the show

. i still however found this surprising, but i like the choice and glad it wasn't

[Show spoiler]an outside hire (i.e. new character)

2. finding out both

[Show spoiler]Pam and Angela are pregnant!

although, when does this episode take place? a month later? two months? it seems like

[Show spoiler]Jenna Fischer actually is pregnant

so the writers had to write it in the script, however it doesn't make complete sense since

[Show spoiler]it seems like Andy is still VERY new as boss

and yet

[Show spoiler]Pam looks to be about 6-8 months pregnant.

which is why i think it was added to the script.

unless

[Show spoiler]she isn't pregnant

then the crew do a GREAT job of making it look like

[Show spoiler]she is.

3. i absolutely LOVE Stanley's

[Show spoiler]"shove it up your butt!" joke

will be interesting to see how this season goes and if we ever

[Show spoiler]hear or see from Michael Scott again.

I'm pretty sure Steve will return to the show either for his wedding or something. Or maybe there will be a big problem in the office and the only person they know that can handle it is him.

If this isn't the last season, he might not appear at all this season...but I just can't imagine him not appearing at least one more time (series finale?) even for a cameo. I'm pretty sure in an interview he said he would love to return somewhere down the line.

I loved the premiere. I thought it was one of their best episodes in a long time. At first, I wasn't so sure about them making

the new manager, but after the episode, I kinda warmed up to it. Some great writing there. I also love that they made Spader a regular. Hope this season will be a great one.

Good episode. Not great, but not horrible, either. The season appears to have potential.

agree with pretty much everything said. episode really took me by surprise, lets hope they can keep it up this season. Robert California is hilarious and i love that Andy is the manager now.

I love the Nard dog. Good choice for a manager in my opinion. I'm really looking forward to this season!
