I've sure never heard of Dnc. I did an advance search (Ricerca avanzata) with Dnc as the studio and Blu-ray the format and it looks like they only have 3 BD releases besides Transamerica:

Il Tempo Delle Mele
Il Tempo Delle Mele 2
Mechanik [Edizione: Regno Unito]

The Il Tempo series seems to be a French coming of age comedy. Mechanic is a UK (Regno Unito) import of the Dolph Lundgren flick. The do have several DVD releases, so perhaps they just recently started releasing on Blu-ray? Weinstein holds the US rights to Transamerica so I wouldn't count on it being region free, Weinstein is pretty strict on enforcing region coding for European partners. The more important question to me is of the English audio is lossless and the video a decent upgrade from DVD. It's only 13 euro, I may give it a try in your Amazon.it group buy.

When I tested it in my Insignia player set to Region A when I got the region error message I hit Main/Top menu and the main menu loaded and it played fine. But when i played it my home theater setup I used my Oppo player set to region B. I can test my region A Samsung player if anyone is interested in this and want further confirmation of the main menu 'trick'.

English DTS Master Audio and very nice PQ, I'm very pleased with this. Thanks for the GB, Indy.

It DID work on my Insignia but didn't on the PS3. YMMV
