Blu-ray Ninja

Hey people,
I bought a Thomson 40FS3246 a few months ago because it was a bargain for a 40" screen in Full HD. Or so it says. I've read up on the product description here (http://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&q=...Vyo2MBLg&pli=1) and it says it's 1920x1080 Progressive. Thing is, when I put on the HDMI video input on the telly it says "Blu-ray HDMI 1 1080i". Did I get screwed or was I too foolish? Thank you if you can help me solve this! |

I've never heard of that brand but I saw in the link that it says it's a 1080p display.... You need to make sure that whatever device you are connecting (PS3, Blu-ray player) is also set to 1080p. It sounds like it is not & that's why you are seeing 1080i pop up, as I kind of default it seems.

If the display is listed as 1920x1080 native resolution, then it is a 1080p display. You cannot go by what the input resolution reads when displayed. This is simply the resolution the TV is being fed. It sounds like you need to verify your input device is outputting a 1080p signal (if capable).

I feel so ignorant. The Blu-ray player had reseted back to 1080i when I changed TV and I was scared something was wrong on the telly. You have no idea how happy this makes me. Thanks again. |
