I remember bits of it. I've been wanting to rewatch it, but never got the chance to. If they Blu-Ray it, I probably would get it.

After I saw this movie, I wanted to make one of those little balls hoping an imaginary friend would come alive like that

(I was kinda like a Lizzy, dark haired and a bit more meek but also imaginative..I was like 7 or 8 when this came out so it was the perfect childhood movie!!)

Later I was watching American Werewolf in London and saw that Fred (Rik Mayall) was in the beginning scene in the tavern when the two guys are just starting out their trek. Mayall was amongst the group of burly, hard drinking men who knew more than they let the unsuspecting Americans know they did.

Love this movie and would gladly buy it on blu. The US dvd sucks and the used market prices suck even more. "Snotface!"

If they can get Ate de Jong, Rik Mayall & Phoebe Cates together for a commentary, and a retrospective and more, this would be like a dream for me. That and UHF to finally make the Blu leap. Nothing would attain my desire more than to hear "Let Me Be Your Hog" in 2.0 or 5.1 DTS-HD lossless surround sound.

I got my DVD copy at Papa Johns. I remember we only ordered the pizza so we could get that movie for free. Hahaha. I think that was in 2003.

Man, when this came out I though Rik Mayall was going to explode into a huge star. He was absolutely hilarious on Blackadder and the Young Ones, etc. Buuut, it never happened. I saw this film a hundred times on cable back in the early 90s, it's still got some great moments... "Haven't got a husband, haven't got a husband."
