its story is taken from director shankar's endhiran.
Interesting fact is shankar first approached srk for endhiran(robo).

This is a very intelligent quote

One man's wine is anothers poison, not the worst movie in six, or seven years but the worst movie in a decade. OK. How scientific is that not 9.9 years but a decade. LOL

It has Shahrukh Khan, shot in Europe, amazing action scenes, great story line, let some of us look foreward to this moive that enjoy this kind of genre. This movie comes out on my birthday and i will go watch it after my party. Ime excited. Love Robot

If the company make big budget film, they should consider with filmmaker(who are in charge of our project), actors as well.
In this case, we doubt our director Anubhav Sinha
who made "Dus" and "Cash" guys!

He isn't level of director like Christopher Nolan, Paul Greengrass, Matthew Vaughn who can deal with big budget project well and can give trust us at least.

That's why I doubt the quality of this project. Seriously...

So the Title Ra.One(Ravan) is on Arjun rampal's character. Interesting.

One more Ra.One thread Surely this movie is generating a lot of interest and hype as well.

Well, it is not right to say if this is going to be crap or the best Sci-fi movie in India so far without seeing it.

The special effects are looking good from what I have seen so far and I only hope the VFX will be coherent with the the story and the story telling and not random just for the pride of showing VFX.

SRK 'Fanboys' will like it anyway but I am eager to see how it delivers a story of its own even though it shows signs of inspirations.

Not to pick a fight with the fans but since it is human to compare as mentioned by one member here - the Plasma bolt used by Ra.One in the trailer seems to be inspired from Sorcerer's Apprentice.

raspBerry made a very good point - Apart from the story, script and the cast, the director is the most important part of the movie and Anubhav's past projects has nothing to write home about. However, I need to see this movie before discounting Anubhabh or SRK out.

And before anyone writes any comment on 'negativity' or 'personal statement', I'd just like to say that everyone's post is their own personal opinion since we are not part of a religion or cult or a fan-club here...we just post our opinions in a forum.

very well written.... you really cover many points i want to say
and yes the inspirations are there.... in one scene the claws above arjun rampal's hands looks inspired from woverine's but i'll say india is in its initial stage of producing sci-fi movies and we don't have many sci-fi movies made here....but seeing this trailer of movie (i dont know about how the movie or story telling will be) i think it is the best looking indian movie till date...the scenes look not far behind the hollywood's standards (talking technically)
and talking business wise SRK has created so much hype that if the movie is not too long or boring ...it will surely click at the box office and break all records... if a movie like bodyguard can!! then why can't this ??

Conceptually seems more like Tron - the difference being Tron was inside a virtual world (game) and this one out in real (??)

The movie does seem to have a lot of elements lifted/copied/inspired from various Hollywood movies. But even then, the previews and the music have gotten my attention and I for once am actually looking forward to seeing a Shahrukh movie. At least on the technical front, the movie is looking quite polished, specially so for an Indian film.

PS: I have never understood the Indian audience's obsession with the box office performance of a movie. Even most of the critics in India, specially one Mr. Moron Adarsh, write their reviews from the commercial aspect of the movie. Why should I personally care how a movie fares at the box office? All that matters to me is that the movie is good and that I enjoy it.

yes...taran adarsh and komal nahata....every time they talk all this!! anywayz since SRK is my favt actor...i'am too excited abt this movie... and yes this also looks the most technically advanced indian movie till date and i would like to congratulate SRK(as a producer) and the VFX team and ofcourse the director anubhav sinha for making this happen...
the score by v&s rocks...and even the themes they have recorded at prague are very good and should blend well in the movie....but they somehow remind me of those by salim and sulaiman in krrish...they were also recorded in prague

If my memory serves correctly, Taran Adarsh is a trade analyst by profession and not a movie reviewer in any form. But since in India every movie is rated by box office success, he started looking at movies from that angle and that's why his actual review skill is limited.

He has no understanding of movies and I find his reviews absolutely pathetic. However, since we know that most people always try to correlate a movie's success by its box office record, he has many fans

Apart from Deepa Gahlot, I do not find any Hindi film critic worth the reading. Khalid Mohammed was good at one point of time but he got too carried away with his puns and rhymes, and anyone who has made an absolute rotter like "Fiza" has no right to criticize any other film-maker's work.
