I heard it was going back to WWII, but I didn't know it was going back to the Pacific. Wasn't there a MOH game that did that and was terrible? I can only remember what the cover of the game looked like.

This is a terrible business decision by infinity ward. After the huge success of cod4 why in the world would they feel the need to revisit wwII? If this is true then I will definitely not be purchasing this game.

Infinity Ward is not doing this game, Treyarch is. Infinity Ward (from my understanding) is working on something else, like COD 6 (I hope)......

Treyarch was responsible for #3, so it doesn't sounds good already......

they swich off so the companies have more time to spend on each game and that is why they can realse a game every year. iw is much better that is why all the even # cods are better in my opinion

IMO, I think Activision should just make Modern Warfare a spinoff series. CoD: MW developed by Infity Ward with Treyarch doing the regular CoD series in WWII

Call of Duty 4 was such an amazing game, I was completely floored....

From start to finish, the narrative of that game really moved, and kept the pace so well...

The level where you had to sneak around in Russia to get to the sniping point was nothing short of awesome...

All in all, I look foward to Infinity Wards next effort....

Call of Duty 5 will be a big dissapointment, because Treyarch is balls.

I don't really care about it being in WW2 again as long as the gameplay is still as good

Incorrect. Infinity Ward developed the original Call of Duty on PC, Call of Duty 2 on PC and 360, and Call of Duty 4 on PS3, PC, and 360. All other variations of the game, including Call of Duty 3, were handed off by Activision to Treyarch. Activision wants the Call of Duty series to have regular annual installments like its other franchises Tony Hawk and Guitar Hero. Infinity Ward is unwilling to crank out installments just to make annual release dates, and that is why Treyarch handled side chapters and also COD3, all of which were sub-par compared to Infinity Ward developed games.

If you want real Call of Duty games, just pick up the versions developed by Infinity Ward. Otherwise, you could end up pretty frustrated with the drop in quality and originality. The Treyarch developed games are kind of crappy in comparison. I'm certain the next COD game is probably from Treyarch, so steer clear.

Treyarch is working on CoD 5 set during the mid 20th century.

Infinity Ward is working on CoD 6 set in modern times.
