Given their team of neutral contributors, indeed, there is nothing to be surprised about.

The real funny bit is when you look around that petition site and see what other petitions on there are numbering in comparison.

"Keep Dog on TV" Petition... 36,242 signatures..

It's official folks.. the world would rather see "Dog" on the telly than any HD-DVD..

Warner, you too could sell 6000 units of a title that HD-DVD enthusiasts will otherwise be resigned to buy on Blu Ray anyway...

yea but when people like tiny penis and the ceo of universal has hundreds of signatures on their behalf kind of degrade the whole legitimacy of the petition.

I think people are venting their frustration with a supposed "neutral" site that posts a Save the HD-DVD Ship petition on it's front page news items. It's very irritating.

I think HDD is getting really low lately. The place is full of HD-DVD fudsters, all out of control it seems. Now news of a useless online petition makes it in the homepage.

HDD knows a petition isn't going to do anything to save HD DVD, and it since it is a holiday there probably won't be any real news for HD DVD or Blu-Ray from studios.

Slow news day = Stories which aren't news

Fox News was just talking about how Mass Effect is trying to trick teenagers into having sex slow news day people.

Thumbs down

Petitions mean nothing when the cause is not one of a social or moral dilemna.

Money talks, this BS will walk.

Maybe they should have taken the time to see how many actual HD DVD supporters signed the petition. I was just reading through it. If they deleted the anti HD DVD signatures it would be much less than 6,000. Would they even DARE send that to Warner with all the crap that people wrote on it? No one would take it seriously.

A lot of them aren't even real sigs to support HD DVD like sig 7188

Only petition that matters is the one where HD DVD owners went MIA after the announcement:

The sad thing is people can sign these petitions as many times as they want. I would no be surprised is half the number of signatures count.
The war needs to end, not be prolonged. WB knows that they are going to upset people with this, but the industry needs WB to make the choice. If WB changed now, it would hurt their image and confuse people EVEN MORE!

Does it really matter??

Who cares?

10,000 signatures are you kidding me? You think Warner is going to take their statement back so they can satisfy the needs of 10,000 early adopters? What about the potential millions of customers who might buy Bluray players next holiday season now that there is a clear winner?

Bullshit...

Highdefdigest is a joke. Everything they do is Pro-Red., and has been for a while.

Their reviews are always slanted red....

Take a look at anything Brake writes. He slanders transfers of movies on bluray because he doesn't like the "visual" style of the film.

Then look at his review of The Bourne Ultimatium. It says something like, "the picture has overblown whites and the contrast is jacked up way to high, but this is they way the movie is supposed to look, and HD-DVD presents it just that way PERFECT SCORE!!"

Double standards and complete inconsistancy.

Given the ratio of Blu-ray sales to HD-DVD, those 6000 don't buy many movies. I suspect it's made up of a bunch of little fan-boys without much of a budget.
