The guys who have it on my guitar forum love it. If you are a musician it gets difficult over the years to maintain practice routines, this for any of is great incentive to continue to practice. For new folks its a very simple way to learn especially compared to when i started playing 25 years ago.

Everyone has said the game is well made glitch free. the only beef that a lot of us players have had is the initial song list is a bit weak but we all know that will change.

im getting mine this weekend.

Cool...thanks SPH for the info. I bought the bundle yesterday and am quite excited to start. I had a guitar many years ago and took very general lessons but now want to get back into it. I think this game/tool seems to be the best thing that hopefully will encourage and help me get back into it. I just spoke with a co-worker of mine who indicated he was on it for hours last night. So I'm encouraged with what I am hearing.

I just bought this today and I'm really enjoying it. Even though I'm already a guitar player, I'm still finding it hard to be perfect in hitting the notes because I'm not used to staring at a TV screen while trying to play a song. This is good practice though and I can't wait till more songs get released. I'm a Smashing Pumpkins man myself.

My brother wants this game. He has 2 or 3 guitars so he will just need the game.

Yeah I have my own guitars as well (around 6) so I just bought the game and it comes with the USB cable. $79 total. I might buy another cable to play with 2 players. the cable itself is about $29.

There are some new songs on there that I have never played that sound pretty cool but Im really a classic hard rock fan and most of my recordings are progressive blues sort of stuff, think gilmour/joe bonamassa style.

But what a great tool to use to not get closet timing from jamming alone and it will save my and my neighbors hearing

I will be getting this as well. Hopefully this weekend.

I'm very much a beginner - took some lessons, but never had time to really practice. Looking forward to seeing if this actually helps, especially since I do like a lot of the songs that are on the game.

Later!

I am really hyped to crack my game open. I am still going through a home remodel but will be re-setting up my tv in a room sometime this weekend.

Its a lot of fun. A lil bit frustrating to learn to sight read with their method, but it works.

How hard is this game to pick up and play if you have never had a single guitar lesson in your life and the only guitar you've ever even held was the plastic fake guitars for Guitar Hero and Rock Band?

I dont think it would be hard at all, compared to straight up learning the way the rest of us had prior to the game.

I play guitar and I am definitely interested in this game but my GOD what a sucky setlist!!! I hope they are planning on expansion packs soon!!

Better yet, why can't a company develop an engine that allows you to plug in your OWN music and it automatically detects the correct notes/chords/finger placements/etc?? Is it possible or am I reaching a little here?

It would be harder for people new to the instrument simply because they are not familiar with the strings/frets/finger placement, etc. No matter how easy they make this game, there are certain basic fundamentals that you HAVE to just put the "man hours" in before you can really let loose.

I've been playing guitar for years and I'm pretty decent. Playing this game makes me feel like a totally beginner. I can't even play "Can't Get No Satisfaction" without totally screwing up on single note version. I can play the song just fine without the game, when trying to play it on the game and looking at the screen, I can't coordinate properly and sound like a novice.

Still easier than me being hold up in my room back in 86 without anything but a few cassette tapes to learn songs from

I agree though a person still has to learn the basic stuff like how to finger changing chords and so on, it will take time.

I have always wanted to learn the guitar and have tried several times but just couldn't get motivated to set and practice single note scales and chords enough to stick with it. I've been hearing a lot of great things about this game and now, it looks as though I will either buy a PS3 or pick up the PC version on 12/13 and another electric guitar. By making a game of practicing I might actually learn this time. Like many other have said I'm not impressed with the set list but I'm sure it will get better as the game becomes more popular. I'm sure a lot of it has to do with copywrite premission. Hoping they'll add some Pink Floyd and Rush in time.

I'm sure that will depend on the success of this one.
