Default mounting samsung ln-t4071f tv

I recently bought a 40" samsung ln-t4071f tv and i have all the mounting hardware to mount it on the wall, but i am a little confused on how it all works. I see where the 4 center holes all line up but the 2 bars on the sides of it to screw in the other 4 screws dont line up with the other spots in the back of the tv. Also they arent true holes, do i need to get a tap and tap the threads through the dummy plugs on the back of it? Any help is appreciated, thanks guys.

You should not have to tap anything what is the brand of the mount you have.

Its actually a tv stand that has a bar up the back of it with a mount built onto that bar. I can tell how it is supposed to work, but the back of the tv doesnt have holes lined up in the correct areas, it looks like it is sunken in a bit in the right areas, doe these simply punch through or do they pop out somehow? I am at work right now so i cant exactly take a good look at it again until later tonight. It just looked to me like these holes had to be tapped through, but i could be horribly mistaken. the bracket actually looks alot like this model.

On most tv's there a caps over certian holes that need to be poped off so that you can get to the threads. I just used a screw driver to get to pop them right off.

Is it possible that there are only 4 holes to hold up this tv? LAst night after work i took a good look at my tv and i can only find 4 places to screw the bolts into the back. To me it seems like 4 bolts isnt enough to hold up a 40" tv, but i could be wrong.

Four holes is the standard on every tv. You just have to make sure that you have the right hardware and attach the tv firmly to the bracket.

I assume that the screws that came with the hardware are the right ones for the job, it just seemed like 4 bolts seemed like it wasnt enough, thanks for the insight and help though.

The bolts that came with it shouldbe the right one just make sure they fit correctly and there should be no problem.
