![]() ![]() This looks very interesting and it's only £9.99 @ HMV http://hmv.com/hmvweb/displayProduct...do?&sku=438207 Alas **** all information as usual from this lazy arse distributor so we have no idea what we're getting. Nothing on the self-styled UK censor's site http://www.bbfc.co.uk/AFF284460/ either. Not a good receipe for selling stuff. The Australian disc has these special features listed: * Audio commentary with director Justin Kurzel * Deleted scenes with optional audio commentary with director Justin Kurzel * Interviews with Cast and Crew * Music clip montage * Original Casting footage * Justin Kurzel's short film BELL * Teaser * Trailer UK distributor: http://www.revolvergroup.com/uk/cinema/view/snowtown http://www.snowtownthemovie.com/ http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1680114/ Other stores: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B005WVUM1E http://www.play.com/DVD/Blu-ray/4-/2...n/Product.html So we'll just have to wait and wait until we decide to invest in this title or not. |

Indeedy.
![]() Anyone for ice cream? Watched it tonight and thought it was pretty darn mesmerising. Where and how they got that cast (and technical talent) together I don't know. It was quite a gruelling experience and the only relief I had was: [Show spoiler] I have no idea why that was a relief but it was. Certainly a better film than Animal Kingdom due to the casting, direction and quite beautifully shot and scored production. I'm not taking anything away from Animal Kingdom though as it's a great film -that just tells you how good Snowtown is. I've pre-ordered that HMV one and if it turns out to have no special features I'll cancel it and sell my house to buy the Australian version. I may have to sell my car too looking at the price but it'll be worth it. |

If you liked the film, try and check out the episode called 'Snowtown – The Bodies in the Barrels' from the series 'Crime Investigation Australia'. I must warn you though, even I, as a huge horror/crime fan.. that particular episode shocked me.. the brutality of the events.. damn.

Saw this a few weeks ago at my local Arthouse cinema. There was a Q&A session afterwards with Daniel Henshall (plays John in the film). He said the cast were all first time actors, and locals from around the town. A very hard watch, but a great and rewarding one, nonetheless.

Just as an aside, people who liked this should try and pick up Rowan Woods's The Boys Another magnificent film from Australia and it has a similar feel.
The best DVD (there are others but they're OOP) is the Oz one http://www.devoteddvd.com.au/shop/pr...oducts_id=8941 or http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/dvd/d...oys-the/224178 Whatever happend to that David Wenham and Toni Collette? ![]() |

On The Boys?
I don't think there's anything on it IIRC. I sold mine (for a house) and went for the Oz disc years ago. It still fetches silly money but nowhere near what it did. Very much a must-see for fans of Snowtown and Animal Kingdom methinks. Amazon UK disc http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00009P9PC Amazon Oz disc http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B003074BSM |

OZ discs are quite expensive to import so its not a option for me if the UK disc is not as good extras wise. |

Revolver BD's often don't have English Subs. I'm not gonna wait till March to find out the UK BD doesn't have subs. I've seen it without subs and it was very hard for me at times to understand, so I surely need Subs on this one.
If it happens to be that it will get subs, and all the extra's then i'm happy for everyone who waited out. |
