I am looking for a region B standard 2D bluray player that is available for purchase by someone in the US and doesn't require hardware modification or custom firmware to operate, just a standard region B locked player.

Region B players have a different voltage and plug...... You will need a plug adapter and possibly a voltage converter. I think PS3 handles both voltages so you would just need to change the cord. You are better off just getting a US player that has region changing capabilities.

Thanks for the tips and input guys, I hadn't checked this thread for a couple days otherwise I would've responded sooner. Regions are such a pain, not to mention completely pointless why shouldn't we be allowed to buy a movie from anywhere and watch it assuming it has an audio track or subtitles in our language.
