So I recently borrowed the movie 'Point Break' (Blu-ray) from a buddy of mine, and his version says 'Pure Adrenaline Edition' but I don't see the difference between this edition and the regular non-edition one.
My question is this: what's the difference between the two versions of the film? The only thing I can thing of is that the movie is 2 hours and 2 minutes, and on iMDB.com it says it's only 2 hours (120 mins). Could those extra 2 minutes be the 'Pure Adrenaline' of this 'Pure Adrenaline Edition'? (Edit: Never mind that part. Both versions are 122 minutes.) Or does this version basically just give you more bonus content the original non-special edition Blu-ray version doesn't give you? Thanks in advance for anyone who replies. ~ Rafdog Last edited by Rafdog; 11-01-2011 at 01:42 AM. |

Yes, the Pure Adrenaline Edition was released July 2008 by 20th Century Fox while you're "Regular Edition" was re-released by Warner Bros last June. At one point this movie was listed in the "hard to find OOP blus" thread here...

Which is better, BD-50 or BD-25? Also, does the Pure Adrenaline Edition have the Fox fanfare at the start of the movie?

I don't know if it's true or not but I've heard single layer discs have one barcode around the inner hole and dual layer discs have two barcodes. I have the Warner edition of this and this site says it is a single layer disc but when I look around the hole I see 2 barcodes, 030001 and 050001. Unless these numbers aren't the barcodes, I don't know. There's other numbers on there so small I can't make out. And the Warner release from the same year in the UK and Australia says BD50 on this site. Confusing.

It looks like 2 rings to me but gotta admit my eyesight when it comes to looking at things up close is not the best. I got out Point of No Return as well cuz I know that is a bd25 and it looks different to me and I could find only one number on it. Used reading glasses and to my 52 year old eyes Warner's 2011 Point Break looks like 2 rings and Point of No Return looks like 1 ring. And doesn't make sense to me why Warner would have done it as a bd50 in Australia and UK but a bd25 in America. That's what got me started looking at it cuz I saw the UK version stats that came out just a few months later of the same year and thought wtf. It seems to me this site saying it's a bd25 is a misprint.
