Plus it was one of the first movies with so much CGI creature work in daylight. It still holds up 14 years later. I remember walking out of the theater in awe.

It was my 2nd or 3rd bluray and it really opened my eyes up to 1080p, it is a very high quality transfer.

.
Total Recall is the only one that I would own.

Haven't seen Black Book yet.

Well when i first heard of the film i was really excited because 1, its a Paul Verhoeven film, 2 it is a medieval action/adventure film which i love and 3 its Rutger Hauer. I enjoyed it but it was definitely not what i expected. It is not quite as polished as his later films but still an very enjoyable film.

So, people are actually putting Hollow Man on the list, just because they can't think of any other movies he made?

People, I've only got Robocop 1 and 4th Man on my list, and I don't feel ashamed about a thing.

I really liked the first half of Hollow Man. Great visuals, a neat premise for them to explore, especially the dark side of being invisible. But it got a bit wonky after that and just fell apart.

Soldier of Orange. By far his best, and sadly a lot of people have never seen it. I only saw it on VHS. The fact that it is not out on Region 1 blu yet is a crying shame.

I think he's only made a few classics - Robocop and Soldier of Orange. Maybe Black Book. But his early stuff is interesting, like Spetters, 4th Man, and Flesh+Blood.

Correct.

Robocop, Total Recall, Starship Troopers, basic instinct... they are fun but Showgirls is the ultimate film.

I'd say that most of his Dutch movies were better than his American ones, so anyone who hasn't watched any, really needs to do so.

Soldier of Orange
Turkish Delight
The Fourth Man
Black Book
RoboCop
Basic Instinct
Spetters
Starship Troopers
Totall Recall
Katie Tippel
Hollow Man
What Do I See?
Showgirls

Pretty amazing that the majority of Verhoeven's Hollywood films have either had sequels and/or remakes by different directors.

Sequels for Robocop, Starship Troopers, Hollow Man, Showgirls, Basic Instinct.
Remakes of Total Recall and Robocop.
