I've heard that this film's 3D effects are some of the best out there for a movie.

Watches it last night. And it was good. Very funny movie and the 3D effects were really good.

On another note I thought the trailer for Immortals also looked really good on 3D.

I'm surprised how many laughs I got out of this, definitely recommend if you're a fan of the series. Definitely better than 2.

Saw it last night and it was a awesome film. 3D effects were well done. They also looked like they were popping out of the screen.

Looking forward to seeing this. One of the few times I'll probably allow for gimmicky 3D!

Which means it probably won't be out on blu-ray until Q4 of next year . New Line pulled the same thing with Fred Claus. Hope I'm wrong though.

That's pretty common with Christmas movies. Disney's A Christmas Carol hit 3D Blu-ray almost a year after the theatrical release. I don't mind so much- usually that's the only time I'll watch Christmas themed flicks anyway!

Is this movie only being released in 3D? No ads in my local papers saying it's being shown normally. Just wondering.

It's playing in 2D and 3D theaters, but the 3D is totally worth it. Really a great movie to see in 3D.

This seems to be dropped from upcoming films in Australia. Very, very sad... Hope I don't have to wait too long for the 3D blu!

I won't go to the theater for it but I'll buy it and watch at home while induldging in some of the same behavior as they do.

I actually don't think they are releasing this in 2D. Went to the only theater in the area that listed it as 2D, got there and they said its only in 3D. Based on the opening sequence and some scenes I don't think they are making 2D an option. I am glad though, really enjoyed it in 3D.

Original Idea for "Harold and Kumar 3" That Never Happened

Quote:
"A Very Harold and Kumar 3D Christmas" didn't start out about the two characters chasing after a prized Christmas tree, but was more in-line with the other two installments. It was to be called "Harold and Kumar and the Legend of Eazy-E's Stash." Unfortunately, things quickly fell apart and a Holiday film was the result.

"In [the original story], Harold and Kumar find out about an amazing bag of weed that once belonged to Eazy-E in the early nineties," said writers Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg. "Before he died, Eazy and one of his top hoes hid the bag somewhere in the United States and left clues to its whereabouts within famous rap lyrics. (Kinda like the dollar bill in 'National Treasure.') Alas, it turned out that the logistics of getting the rights to Eazy-E's estate were more challenging than distributing a holiday film."

"A Very Harold and Kumar 3D Christmas" ended up opening to only $13 million, which is even less than what the debut of the second installment. But it's not all bad. The third film only cost $19 million and will obviously become profitable. Plus, there is now a new "Harold and Kumar" animated TV series being shopped around.

sounds like it would've been hilarious!!!

There were several moments in this movie that very nearly made me fall out of my chair laughing. Better than the second one for sure.

The premise for the original idea is goddamn brilliant. Too bad they couldnt get it done.
