i have this mate who i had up tonight who swears blind he cant see the difference between blu ray and upscaled dvd.
now im running a ps3 on a full 1080p pannel and i did a direct comparison between pirates 3 on blu running on ps3 and pirates 3 dvd upscaled on 360. now i could blatantly see the differences in the 2 but he couldnt and continued to insist blu was a waste of money. do any of you have friends like this who you just cant convert |

Perhaps you should grab pictures of upscaled DVD and put it next to the exact same picture on Hi-Def. If your friend cannot see the difference:
(a) they needs to see an optometrist (b) quit lying and stop being stubborn (c) take off the coke-bottle glasses that are not helping their vision |

i would seriously tell him to get an eye exam....no one really talks about how important perfect vision is to get the full effect of hd....if you get used to having bad vision, you dont think twice about it.....until you walk out of the lens store with new contacts in and start laughing about how cool it is that you can read signs a mile away...a few of my friends had this problem....i sat them down and slapped them around...they now own ps3s

My Uncle says he can't see the difference either and made a huge fuss, but he loved 7.1 Lossless audio. So there you go. Blu-ray is not just about resolution.

I know some people who can't tell the difference, yet those are the same people that need to stand to the TV extra close or can't see very good. I remember there was a magazine cover with a really good photoshopped Steve Jobs on it and a friend was like "yeah! look at steve jobs" and I told him it was photoshop and he didn't believe me until he read the magazine and they showed how they made the cover.

'blind' to hd is actually a potentially big issue for people.
when i don't have my contacts in OR glasses on i have acceptable vision. in fact, i often go around my everyday life without them. however, my vision is in this case hindered, and yet i am used to it. this is probably the issue with a lot of people. when i look at a blu ray movie without my glasses/contacts, it definitely looks hardly any better than a dvd (in a way, it 'unconverts the blu'). But when I put glasses on, i am stunned by the quality. ANYBODY WHO SAYS THEY CANT TELL THE DIFFERENCE ABSOLUTELY NEEDS THEIR EYES CHECKED.....literally, they probably need glasses! |
