I was praising them a few days ago, now we have a feud over them cancelling of my Fight Club order. Swings and roundabouts I guess....

I was hoping to watch these last weekend but no-one was interested, hopefully I'll watch them soon.

Ordered the double pack for £15.99 on thusday and received them yesterday (saturday). And here's me thinking I was getting a good deal because The Three Musketeers was £12.99 on its own!

Luckily, I haven't taken the sellophane off them yet. Does anyone think it would be worth it ordering the DVDs (which now have that brown packaging with the Musketeers in sihlouette) and sending my previous order back?

You wan't to ditch the Blu-rays for the DVDs?

Oh I want those Blus, but I'd much rather have them for less than a fiver if other people have...

I guess I should have acted earlier, huh?

You won't anymore, Amazon has caught their mistake now (no doubt after all the messages from people on this board quizzing them about it) by correcting the price and ultimately the disc format as well. Previously both sets were labelled as DVDs, now both are labelled correctly. The only way to distinguish them before was the photo of the blu-ray set wich was correct all the time. Ordering the DVD will give you the DVD. In a nutshell: You snooze, you lose.

I think Amazon were having a lazy week. I pre-ordered The Guns of Navarone about two weeks ago (it comes out tomorrow) for £5.99! It's gone up to £7.99 now, but that price doesn't seem right to me, either.

Amazon were price matching either HMV or Zavvi with the Guns of Navarone!

No, they've corrected their listing now, you'd get the 2008 DVD set (my link from page 2 of this thread takes you to the corrected BD page). Even though a few guys slipped through the net and picked up the Blu's for 4.49 the set is still good value for the price you paid.

Default The Three/Four Musketeers (Richard Lester)

Do we ask where the optimum extras on the standard DVD vanished to?

Or import the UK set, it is open to both Region A & B. I doubt LionsGate going to do anything on their own and just use the existing StudioCanal transfer, if they do put these films out.

I think a cash-in can be described as 'to obtain a profit or other advantage by timely exploitation'. With the new Musketeers movie doing the rounds our friends at Optimum decided it would be a good idea to release one of their catalogue titles and cash-in on the new movies publicity and possible success.

The guys Anchor Bay have done similar with The Adventures of Tintin release.

chip75-what you have looks like a good quote from a dictionary. New 3 musketeers looks to be a shoddy piece of tat. Any association with new 3 musketeers would be embarrissing

I agree to a certain point but my local ASDA has Alexandre Dumas' novel with a nice new cover on it to cash-in on the movies release. There's also a new version of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo there to give with it (and a couple of others that slip my mind). Hopefully the new film will point audiences into the right direction of the Richard Lester movies.

Anyway they've been knocking out Musketeer films for more than a 100 years and I'm sure the makers of each one decided it would be fortuitous to make each one at that certain point of time.

But you can't beat Raquel Welch no matter how hard you try....

Roy Kinnear died during the filming of The Return of the Musketeers.
I was so gutted hearing he died, I think it was the first celebrity whose death I found upsetting. I adored him as a kid
still feel sadness now.
