Brave attempt to try and marry together the original film and the tv series, but not having a competent director onboard didn't help matters, and the narrative from the film is all over the place at best.
Anyone remember this promo for the film that featured absolutely loads of visual effects and action? Loads of shots from it never made it into the final film! |

It's not a great movie but enjoyable none the less, for me at least. I am a fan of the series so I was happy Duncan, Methos & Joe made it to the big screen. |

As flawed as the film was it was nice seeing Beatie Edney and Sheila Gish (RIP) returning to play their characters from the original Highlander.
That trailer was a marketing abomination from the start, the footage was intentionally filmed for inclusion in the trailer and was never going to be included in the film in any shape or form. In Scandinavia the only version available here was the theatrical cut. In all the years since its release the "Producers' Cut" never made it to DVD here. Upside is, along with importing the US 2-disc set, you get three cuts of the film. |

I'm not sure that both versions exist in high-def.
Actually I am spacing on this... did the DVD have the Producers Cut on disc 1, and an unfinished rough cut on disc 2? If so, then I mean I suspect the unfinished rough cut doesn't exist in high-def. One of those had a nice ending in the Millennium Dome. I want that version. I want both versions! |

![]() I don't think it's a matter of what the existing master is but what ultimately Peter Davis & Co considers the official cut and as such they will make sure that would be the released version. The rough cut was included on the second DVD. Lionsgate could very well include that either as a separate DVD (basically porting the 2nd DVD from the DVD set) or including the SD version as an extra on a 50Gb BD along with the Producers' Cut. |

Something is off with this. According to HMV this is StudioCanal, not Lionsgate.

This is a Miramax film, and in the UK both Lionsgate and Studio Canal release different titles of the Miramax library on Blu-ray. On the BVA website, this is listed as distributed by 'Miramax', which usually indicates Lionsgate, and Miramax titles distributed by Studio Canal are actually listed as 'Studio Canal'. |
