internet connection for firmware and hdmi requires a hdmi cord

This is the newbie forum isn't it? Just do a search on the forums for the questions you have. The reason for the slack is that these things have been asked 100 times already. The HDMI is the heart of the high def world. It carries the signal from your PS3 or BD player to your HDTV. Displaying Blu in all its splendor. Firmware is the voice inside the lovely ladies head that tells her how to do things. It can be updated several ways on your PS3: Download directly, or dl to a flash card or burn to a cd.
