I rented it last night. The helicopter shots are great. I think this might actually be worth seeing in 3D, but I don't have the equipment.

I watched it today & was left slightly unimpressed - not as good as I thought it'd be. Though I had recently watched Senna

TT3D: CLOSER TO THE EDGE LAUNCH

WITH

THE FIRST EVER BIKER RIDE-IN SCREENING

AT

THE ACE CAFE LONDON

The Ace Cafe London has made Motor Sport History by hosting the first ever Biker Ride-In Screening to mark the Blu-ray and DVD release of the stunning TT3D: CLOSER TO THE EDGE, starring Guy Martin

WHO: LONDON BASED BIKERS AND SPORTS FANS (AND LOTS OF THEM)

WHEN: SUNDAY 27TH NOVEMBER 2011 at 11AM

WHERE: ACE CAFE LONDON - North Circular Road, London NW10 7UD

Entertainment One is proud to announce that the first ever Biker Ride-In Screening at the Ace Cafe London was a brilliant success with over 50 bikers in attendance. The London Bikers joined other sports and bike fans to be a part of motor sport history, marking the release of TT3D: Closer to the Edge, out on 3D Blu-ray and DVD 28th November 2011.

Taking inspiration from classic drive-in cinema, those lucky enough to attend had the chance to drive their bikes straight into the specially built outdoor screening area. There they were able to enjoy the stunning fast paced action of the TT races as Guy Martin and others raced to become King of the Mountain.

TT3D: CLOSER TO THE EDGE

Following the exhilirating action of the world-famous Isle of Man TT Races as the film tracks the competitors of the 2010 race as they speed at up to 200mph in search of the ultimate thrill ride and examines their need to go to the extreme to feel truly alive.

Directed by Richard de Aragues, and produced by Steve Christian and Marc Samuelson, TT3D: CLOSER TO THE EDGE puts this elite band of brothers in the spotlight, where the pursuit of glory is the pursuit of freedom and can often lead to the ultimate sacrifice; especially when you have to risk everything to win.

No idea, watched it on DVD I don't think its really bluray worthy tbh unless you want it for the sound quality

Senna is a stellar movie!Did you watch the BD version? The sound is out of this world on it at certain scenes. Also, you watched the extended version right? If not,do it now! It's so much better than the TE.

Have ordered TT3D.Hopefully the 3D will rock!

Yup, I watched the bluray extended version, bit of a shame that a lot of the music suddenly stopped (as opposed to fade) as they inserted more interviews whereas the theatrical is much smoother

Saw TT3D in cinemas a while back.

Good movie, pointless 3D though.

No, it's Region B locked.

I think it and Senna are very different experiences. TT 3D doesn't have the epic historical context that makes Senna a great film and not just something for formula 1 fans. I think TT3d is more for bike fans than general audiences.

I'm surprised the 3D isn't very good. I would have thought that some the helicopter shots (where the landscape is visible in the distance, not the straight down shots) would have great depth.

Default Playback problems

Anyone had problems playing the 2D version included with this?

Tried the disc in a Toshiba BDX2100 and everything was OK until around the 40 minute mark, then the picture becomes choppy and the sound is garbled. No firmware updates available for this cheapo player unfortunately.

It is one of these combined 3D / 2D disks so your player may be having problems decoding the 2D image.

Never had this problem myself, and I'd almost know the film backwards by now

have played it on:

- Panasonic DMP-BD30 (really old, pre ethernet)
- Sony PS3 (2d and 3D)
- Sony Vaio using Power DVD9 program, (2D on laptop, 3D output to TV)

Maybe fire off an email to the distributor in case it's a one off issue with a recent batch of discs

As it's possible to select 2D from the main menu, I would've thought the 2D content is completely separate from 3D content on the disc.

Cheers for the info. I'll do as you suggested, and try e-mailing the distributor/Toshiba.

I don't think it's a one-off though, judging by these comments posted by someone with the same player:

Watched this yesterday and thought it was really good. I'm not into motorbike racing at all but i think the documentary was really well put together and it really sucked me in. The 3D was fantastic too.
