I honestly think one reason the HD-DVD looks so poorly next to a bluray player is because its on a Toshiba LCD versus a Sony LCD. They honestly arent as good

I see nothing wrong with purchasing a Toshiba HDTV, it wont effect HD-DVD at all. You don't need to be like all those HD-DVD fanboys that pretty much boycott anything that Sony does cause their format is loosing.

Oh, just to clarify my previous message. When I say some Toshiba sets don't look bad, I meant the physical set, not what image the set produces. Some sets are built with an aesthetically pleasing look, but I know NO Toshiba TV sets would ever be good enough for me because of image coming out of them.

While a lot of us are completely on the outs with Toshiba, it has nothing to do with buying from them hurting Blu or helping Red. It is a personal choice.

If this is the TV for you, and the best deal for you, I say go for it. It is not immoral or a betrayal of Blu-Ray, it is getting a way to fully enjoy the capabilities of Blu-Ray into your home. Putting some profit into Toshiba's display division is not going to make their HD DVD numbers any better. Get the set home, hook it all up, and savor the irony of using their display to enjoy the full glory of Blu.

My primary TV is a Toshiba 62" DLP. The PQ on it is terrific. Don't let the fact that it's a Toshiba stop you from getting a good deal.

I've owned several Toshiba TVs and while I own a Sony Bravia LCD right now, when I'm ready I will probably have the Toshiba LCD Narrow Bezel model on the short list.

The Sony is an excellent HDTV but right now my Panasonic TH-50PZ7000U 1080p plasma is my favorite (maybe because it is brand new and the Sony is a couple of years old).

I would say go for the Toshiba, it is an excellent LCD as good as the other top tier brands for a better price.

As a computer engineer for a very large PC company I can tell that this is not true. In fact Toshiba probably make as many of their own components as any PC maker. I know for sure they make portable LCD's, hard drives, optical drives and memory.

Go ahead and buy the Toshiba, the above is just an opinion and not a fact,

There are several very nice LCD brands on the market, but Toshiba is just as good, maybe better then many of them.

A deal is a deal as long as your happy with th PQ. Besides it will be quite ironic watching Blu on a Toshiba.

Ps3 and Blu-ray look good on my Toshiba screen and what I have sucks compared to what hes getting. Mine is a 32 inch 1080i only. I should get a Bravia 32 inch for my Toshiba Hd Dvd player and force them together. Make em luv each other.

I agreed. He should just get himself a PANNY deal over TOSHIBA if I were him. I dont recall TOSHIBA make spectacular TV before. I would stick with the 2 S's and 2 P's.
