Was that Blu only, or Blu/DVD combo? hmmm... might make a good gift for my mom.

I think there's only 2 Blu-Ray versions: BR/DVD or BR/DVD/DC

Anybody know if there was a coupon for Cowboys and Aliens, or anything for Rise of the Planet of the Apes?

No coupon on Cowboys and Aliens, although Best Buy is giving out 400 RZ bonus pts for buying it from Dec 6-8(so today is the last day). If you do find it advertised lower somewhere else, you'll still get the 400 bonus pts after the price match at Best Buy.

Shoppers was sold out at 2 different locations, so I went to best buy. Was told that you can't price match AND use a coupon. I asked to talk to a manager, the girl came back and wouldn't look me in the eye, nor was she overly-friendly (despite the fact that I was super polite through the whole process), but she rang it in for 19.99 for me

ya I've had that lame excuse used on me too. I usually get my PMs done at the Customer Service desk where they offer anything but service, and was denied doing both a PM and using the coupon. (Different blu-ray). Their excuse is that the coupon is one promotion, and their price match offer is another, so they can only do one promotion or the other, not both. I gave up fighting with her, so I just went to the normal cash, and had the cashier PM and use coupon successfully . Seems they don't all follow their policies, or some are just more friendlier than others.

That's the exact line I was told at customer service as well... they must be trained to say that. I just said, "I'm buying an iPad and a Digital PVR in the next week, you're going to make your $5 back in no time, could I please speak to a manager about this"

I didn't know you could price match at the cash, I've only done it 3-4 times and always with a hassle at the customer service desk. Next time I'll just go straight to the cash!

I remember once going to a customer service night when wii's were hard to come by. An employee came out with 2, the customer only wanted one, so I got the other. Their flyer said 15% off MOST game consoles. I simply asked if it was included the cashier said "not sure" and just gave me the discount anyway. Turns out, I learned later, wii's were not part of the sale. Definitely going straight to the cash in the future!

I noticed a $5 coupon in the RCSS flyer yesterday for KFP2. But you need to buy a 3-pack of Orville Redenbacher popcorn.

Nothing on the coupon says RCSS only, so you could go to where the movie and popcorn is cheapest and maybe save a couple of bucks...

Thanks for this! Will have to look into it myself. I printed the US coupon for KFP2, hoping to be able to use it here somewhere.

Preferably at a US-owned company? I guess that'd be all of them then!

I had recently experienced a twist on Best Buy's normal Price Match game.

I had an airtight price match, but as always Best Buy tries to make it as hard and unpleasant as they can.

They wasted all kinds of time trying to get a verbal verification from the nearest Future Shop. I suggested to use the flyer or the web site to save time but they prattled on about how the verbal phone call is the only acceptable source.

They were stunned when Future Shop quoted an even LOWER price with a dozen in stock.

They called another Future Shop, same story.

Suddenly web verification - formerly said to be pointless - became their next way to try and deny the PM.

Of course the web site was messing up, but they found lots of stock and yet a 3rd different price.

They ended up PM'ing the middle price and adding an un-justified $4 'shipping' fee, even though the item was in stock locally.

I had an airtight price match, but as always Best Buy made it hard. After a long wait at the one barely staffed desk that can do these, they took a further 20 minutes while they tried to get a verbal confirmation from nearby Future Shop stores. Don't forget these are sister companies, and both use the same unreliable phone system and lazy phone answering practices.

I suggested they just use the flyer I'd brought, or pull it up on the web to save time.

I got the standard lecture on how they need to obtain a verbal voice verification that is their written policy (even though that's not actually written in the policy)

Treating me like an dolt, they talked about how websites can be faked, hacked, or have errors and that a web verification was useless and violates policy. I resisted asking how the Future Shop website could be such an error-prone fake hacked site while their own identical sister site wouldn't be.

I pointed out how calling the other store is a giant waste of time for the customer, themselves, and the competitor... and that competitors really have no reason to answer such calls or to give out accurate information.

They went on and on saying that it doesn't matter what a web site says, they must - must MUST follow their store policy and go by the voice confirmation of a local competitor.

Eventually, Future Shop picked up and quoted an even lower(!) price and a dozen in stock.

The Best Buy customer dis-service agent just about croaked. They called for backup and two lazy supervisors made their way to the accident scene.

They decided a call to a second nearby Future Shop should overrule the first, but after 5 more wasted minutes they got the same answer.

The most senior of them said "I don't care what they say, there's no way we're price matching that."

And he took to the computer I'd already been told was a policy violation to try and find a way out of the PM on Future Shop's web site.

Naturally, the Future Shop site was its usual buggy self and wasn't giving sensible results to basic queries. It took a long time, but finally they stumbled on the item in question at yet a third different price.

They eventually chose the middle price and tacked on a bizarre $4 'shipping' fee which makes no sense since we're talking local availability here.

To me it's interesting that they claim a web verification is useless, except when they are trying to discredit a voice verification apparently.

I also have no idea where the $4 shipping comes into play for items that are local.

The part I'll never understand is why they would care, and why they would go to such lengths to save pennies for a company that will be cheerfully laying them off in January.
I guess my question is why on Earth would you continue to shop at Worse Buy? I mean, they are all about NOT following their own policies.

Kung Fu Panda coupon seems to cover all the cheaper editions but not the 3D... maybe there's a $10 coupon coming for that one?

That sucks!

If this was a matter of only $5 or so, I would have told BB to "shove it" and went over to Future Shop...

I've never had any bad experiences price matching yet *knock on wood*

I do when I'm spending cash, but Future Shop won't accept my Reward Zone points...
