Default Amazon Supports Blu-ray Disc Search

I just noticed that Amazon now has the option to just search for Blu-rays Discs. I believe I had last looked as recently as Friday and they were still only showing DVD, Used DVD, UMD (), and VHS ().

Now they've added Blu-ray (keeping with my claim a while back that few say "Blu-ray Disc" or "BD") and, for some bizarre reason, HD DVD ().

(Great timing on that. Hopefully when HD DVD finally keels over and croaks in a few months they'll see the wisdom in not keeping it as a search option as long as they have VHS and UMD.)

Anyway, good news for people tired of having to search for DVDs and then scan the results for "Blu-ray" or having to put the word "Blu-ray" as part of your search.

and they have some nice FF games and the new god of war

thing is it has the same flaw as the PS3 crapy Ads i never knew it played music and at a bit more then a ipod (what i was going to get) why not
they need to do some movie or TV placement showing what it can do

wow went of line there :P i been thinking of geting a UMD or 2 but thing is what ones
be nice if they do more like some DVDs i seen that had the movie and UMD in the same box

I think UMDs are dead as a standalone packaged format. Deader than HD DVD (at least so far).

You might not have heard, but they starting to include UMD content on Blu-ray Discs so if you buy the BD and put it into a PS3 you can transfer the UMD over to your PSP. I think that's a nice feature, and it makes me more inclined to get a PSP.

Amazon has had its own Blu-ray Store and HD DVD Store for a while now. Now that it's in the search bar is a plus, but it's nothing new.

Amazon's Blu-ray Store
Right, but what I was saying is having it the search bar is new, so that is something now.

Before, even if you went to the Blu-ray Store in Amazon, when you searched it still searched all DVDs.
